In Peggy's Cove, the high winds and heavy seas never disappoint to put on a spectacular show.

It was a chilly day on Oak Island yesterday at 7C (45F).

Think that's bad? I've got sow flurries here now.

Looked like there was some activity going on the island as there were a number of vehicles in the parking lot. I don't believe they had film crews there yesterday based on what I saw.

Believe I saw Scott Barlow in Mahone Bay later on but not 100% sure.

Recently, I went on vacation to Florida and made a visit to the Mel Fisher Maritime Museum in Key West, Florida.

I had been interested in visiting this museum after having learned about Mel Fisher in the television show, "Beyond Oak Island", that had several episodes regarding his search for the Spanish galleon ship, "Atocha".

Unfortunately, I was very ill the day I visited the museum and don't remember much about it as a result. I did manage to take a number of pictures which are shown below.

The legacy of the original Bluenose lives to this day.

It’s successor, Bluenose II, makes Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, its home port.

On this day in 1946, Bluenose sank off the coast of Haiti.

During the Second World War, North Atlantic shipping lanes were shut down, and there were no more International Fisherman's Races.

In 1942, Bluenose was sold to the West Indies Trading Company to ferry goods throughout the Caribbean.

On January 28, 1946, the ship hit a coral reef off the Haitian island Île-à-Vache and sank. No lives were lost, but the ship was never recovered.

Louisbourg, Nova Scotia is one of Canada's most beautiful National Historic Sites. Originally founded in 1713, the French fortress town became one of the largest and most expensive French settlements in North America.

Today, 25% of the original settlement exists, thanks to reconstruction efforts made by Parks Canada in the 1960's - 1970's.

If you should find yourself in the Cape Breton region of Nova Scotia, Louisbourg is a must see for anyone interested in early Canadian history.

The "Curse Of Oak Island" isn't the only filming taking place in the South Shore region of Nova Scotia.

While on tour in Lunenburg, filming for an 8-part Disney series called, "Washington Black", began yesterday along the waterfront area.

I was told that the series will likely be aired on the Disney Plus streaming service sometime next year.
