I had a recent opportunity to provide live event teleprompting at an event in Whistler B.C. The guest speaker for the evening was Mrs. Hilary Rodham Clinton. I must admit, I was a bit nervous and excited at the same time. It's not that I haven't had many opportunities to work with Hollywood actors, captains of industry and famous athletes, but this was different. Hilary Clinton could possibly be the next president of the United States and with that comes a numerous amount of secret service personnel to provide protection. It was truly an impressive site. As Hilary took to the stage, many secret service personnel situated themselves in a row on each side of her. It was to some extent a scene out of a Hollywood blockbuster. And this only added to the excitement and intrigue to the evening. Hmmm..let's see. The State of the Union address. Ya. I could handle that :)

Here at the Toronto Congress Centre teleprompting for Walmart Canada. You know you're working on a big event when the client decides to build a Walmart store within the convention centre and has room to add a relaxing lounge and still has enough room to provide space for the vendors to set up their booths. Totally impressive.

cprompt gets the shoot of a lifetime.
Recently I was asked to teleprompt for a very worthy cause. The Shoppers Drug Mart "Walk To Cure Cancer" promotional video.
Our host just happened to be the well known Kitty Cohen. As I said to myself, who the heck is Kitty Cohen. Well...Kitty is a very well known spokesperson for the "Walk To Cure Cancer" fundraising event, among other worthy causes.

As Kitty made her way down the hall to our set location, a member of the Shoppers Drug Mart team mentioned that it was a great day indeed. Well, how indeed could it be as I said to myself. It was Kitty's birthday today. Wow what a coincidence. So....how old is Kitty I said. She's 98 years young. What! How can that be. And more importantly, how is she going to be on camera? She's 98 years old, I mean young.

Suffice to say, she was totally awesome on camera. She didn't miss a beat and after a perfect read from the teleprompter, there was an added bonus. A sweet and well sung limerick or two to add to the video presentation. It was a special day indeed. It was magic and extremely uplifting. Thank you Kitty for making our day. Oh yes, Happy Birthday. You rock!!!!

cprompt provides teleprompting services for a bank of Cheerios television spots. Todd Huskisson a Toronto producer provided quite a challenge for Warren Clute of cprompt. The need. Two Canon C300 cameras, one with an Optimo Lens and the other with a 50mm lens are to be configured on (1) teleprompter. In addition...can you provide a video feed of the director to be placed on the teleprompter for the talent to see and in turn provide a video feed of the onset talent to be seen on the directors monitor. Commonly known as the "Errol Morris" setup which is much like a Skype connection between two parties.
With production providing us the proper amount of time to “iron out the bugs”, we arrived on set fully prepared. The end result. The producer, ad agency and end client were extremely pleased.! Job well done by cprompt.

Here's a very recent shoot that required the use of my very compact handheld teleprompter. The commercial spot for shop.ca had the actor delivering lines as he walked throughout the set. I mounted the prompter monitor with beamsplitter glass directly on Nigel Akam's Sony F55 using his matte box rods to secure the prompter in front of the 18-50 cine zoom lens. Next and final step was to secure the rig to Chris Morsby's Steadicam 3. The end result was excellent. The travelling shots looked great and the client loved the fact that they could change and adjust dialogue "on the fly" by using the on-camera prompter.

A recent commercial for Purolator courier required the use of my 17 inch LED High Brite teleprompter. The prompter was placed on a motion control rig as several passes were required for visual effects purposes.

At the CBC in downtown Toronto providing teleprompting services for a new comedy series. 38 shows in 12 days! Had a great time. Can't wait for season 2.
