Virginia and I spent a night at the ACC cabin on 5040 this week. Made it 8.7 kms up the road before we started walking. Weather gave us a little of everything.

If anyone is hoping to book seats with us over the next few days, please call the office. This is the first time in the 15 years I've been doing this, that all our buses are broken without a quick fix. We will operate with 3 vans over the next few days, online reservations closed off until Tuesday August 15. We may not be full, please call the office for availability. The gravel roads, with way more traffic this year due to the Hwy 4 detour, have finally beaten us.

Newly relocated visitor centre in Port Renfrew can now be found at the gas station as you enter town. Free wifi and a space to wait for the tow truck, if you happen to be doing such a thing 😞

We will let everyone know if the fires/road closures/detours cause any significant delays. Other than increased traffic on half of the gravel roads we travel, there are no issues.

My apologies for the phone and email silence over the past few days, if you have been trying to reach us. My son and I made time to spend three days at Cape Scott. Other than frozen water bottles in the morning, the weather could not have been better.

Please be aware that the construction at the top of the hill into Renfrew, at 8:30am, could possibly make us over an hour late arriving into Gordon River for our 9:15 AM departure. Apparently the construction team is advertising this over the next 3 days. Sorry folks. We will be late all summer due to early morning construction delays. Next 3 days will be worse.

In Gordon River yesterday. This is the new and improved Bannock etc food stand directly across the road from the trailhead office and Pacheedaht Campground office. I'll be a customer this year.

Today on the Parks Canada website for West Coast Trail, it identifies that bookings for May through September 2021 will open at 8AM on April 7! This is a new notice. Looks like we may have a season!!
