THE MACHINE-THE BRIDE OF PINBOT 1991 WILLIAMS FULL 3-STAGE RESTORATION, Progress update.
New playfield has arrived, and the harness has been swapped over.
Metal should be powder coated this week, going to love the special ordered metallic color.
Playfield metal is in the tumblers, but much will have to be changed out due salt air corrosion.
Cabinet paint, and decals have been applied, waiting on metal.
All new ramps and helmet have to be replaced, if you scroll back to earlier posts, you will see how bad some of it is.
Work continues.

1978 Bally Bobby Orr Power Play full 3-Stage restoration.
Cabinet is being painted at the moment, which is a long process, as there are 3 colors colors.
Each need a cure time, and lots of masking prior to application.
Then clear, and cure time.
If you scroll way back in the posts, you can see images of this cabinet before the sandback, and bodywork.
A new playfield is being installed, and the swap is underway, with preliminary marking now on going.
All the solenoid assemblies have been rebuilt. Found 2 melted coils, so for sure there are board issues that need to be addressed.
Wire harness has been cleaned and examined, and found some added jumper lines, not sure yet what that's about yet.
Some of the metal will be powder coated, not all.
Led's bulbs will be added.
Looks like about 20-30 bad lamp sockets on the underside of the playfield.
Update later.

BRAM STOKERS DRACULA 1993 WILLIAMS -Full 3-stage restoration progress update.
This title is finally complete, playing 100%, and such a great game.
It is heading back to it's owner in Ontario next Tuesday to be enjoyed for another 30 years.
Anyone looking to restore a Bram Stokers Dracula, be for warned, it's a huge undertaking, but worth it.

THE MACHINE-THE BRIDE OF PINBOT 1991 WILLIAMS FULL 3-STAGE RESTORATION, Progress update.
Cabinet is in the paint booth.
All playfield, and cabinet metal is being sandblasted, so it can receive a new metallic silver/grey.
All playfield nuts, bolts, and posts are in the tumbler, but many had to be tossed as corrosion from salt air took it's toll. (game is from NS)
I thought this playfield could be reused, but now that it's stripped I see, it's just too far gone; and a NEW replacement is on it's way.
Both ramps, the skill shot eggcrate, and the Brides helmet are being replace; and new set is on it's way from Starship Fantasy.
The plastic set, along with the 4 brides faces will be replaced with new as well.
Finding a purple that matched with the decal was a challenge.
But Gregg's distributors had it, no one else did; they also carry the best primer I have ever used called Spectra, if your looking.
There will not be much left original on this pin, as she was miled out, to the max.

BRAM STOKERS DRACULA 1993 WILLIAMS -Full 3-stage restoration progress update.
Cabinet body is done, and built out. The Cobalt Blue looks fantastic.
Topside of playfield is done to test point.
Board sets are rebuilt.
Underside now being populated with solenoid assemblies.
Power up test tomorrow.

BRAM STOKERS DRACULA 1993 WILLIAMS -Full 3-stage restoration progress update.
Playfield topside build-out is as far along as it gets, until installed, and tested.
Main cabinet block sanded back with 2000 grit to remove overspray droplets, as no decal will stick otherwise.
Left & right decals sized, and applied to main cabinet.
Start stuffing the main cabinet today, and working on the boardsets.

1981 BALLY EIGHT BALL DELUXE FULL 3-STAGE RESTORATION -Progress update.
Backbox is ready for the paint booth.
Just finishing up the main body today.
This will be receiving a new playfield.

BRAM STOKERS DRACULA 1993 WILLIAMS -Full 3-stage restoration progress update.
The backbox is repainted, and clear-coated; now ready for decal application.
The main body is in the paint booth now, receiving clear coat.
All metal has been sandblasted, and powder coated.
Playfield metal is gloss black, exterior is cobalt blue.
All solenoid assemblies have been stripped, cleaned, and rebuilt.
Playfield is being repopulated after being clear coated, and polished.
All playfield metal has been running in the tumble polisher for over 2-weeks.

BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA 1993 WILLIAMS--Full 3-Stage Restoration...Progression Update.

Playfield has been stripped, cleaned, mylar removed, light paint touch-ups done, then clear coated.
Sanded back, then cleared again, and finally block sanded with a 2000 grit wet, then received the Cut-Polish-Finish process, bringing it to a super high gloss/mirror look.
Both main body and backbox are ready for the paint booth; having received their final 220 grit sanding.

The Machine-The Bride of Pinbot 1991 Williams--Full 3-Stage Restoration --Progression Update.

Playfield removed.

Board set removed from backbox.

Both main cabinet, and backbox stripped down, and decals on main body removed.
Head is silkscreened.
These decals , (and Dracula) left a large amount of adhesive on the cabinet; which can be removed quickly with a 60-80 grit.

Full 3-Stage Restoration completed!

This project is now complete. Let it run 24/7 for 4 days, and put on over 80 test plays; getting it ready to go.

BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA 1993 WILLIAMS--Full 3-Stage Restoration.

Well it has begun. This is a huge job. This is the heaviest playfield I have ever dealt with.
It carries so much weight, that the factory side rails are mini steel I beams.
Playfield has now been stripped both topside, and underside.
Harness, and lamp inserts have been cleaned; found a couple cut/pinched wires during the cleaning process.
Adding about 200 zip ties to the harness, to tidy it up, as it makes it much easier to isolate any future problems that may surface.
Top side has some mylar that will be removed, then a major cleaning, prior to clear coat.
Cabinet was stripped last fall, now that the weather has cleared, the body work has started once again.
Smaller playfield metal is in the tumbler.
Exterior metal will be powder coated Cobalt Blue, and interior Gloss Black.

1986 Williams Pin*Bot full 3-stage restoration progress update.

Underside of playfield is complete.

Top side is built out to the point of testing all features, then it will receive final component install.

Power supply output tests 100%, and main CPU is booting.

All GI lamps working 100%.

Next tests are controlled lamps, and solenoids.

Then, final assembly.

1986 Williams Pin*Bot full 3-stage restoration progress update.

Main cabinet body is in the booth receiving the 2 secondary colors, then clear.

This is done one side at a time, then the front, so with cure time, it becomes a long process.

Upper playfield build out is progressing, but slowed down due to a replacement ramp arriving destroyed:(

Some extra time spent manufacturing upper & lower transition ramp flaps out of .004 tempered, spring stainless steel, witch will be offered on the parts page in 6" x 4" pieces.
You must cut it with non serrated Aviation snips.

All the solenoid assemblies have been cleaned, and rebuilt.

Will start on the boards this week.

1986 Williams Pin*Bot full 3-stage restoration progress update.

The cabinet head is completely repainted, cleared, and ready to be stuffed.

The main body is now in the paint booth; just finished painting, and clearing the underside.

The playfield swap is complete, as far as the harness and lamps go; now the build-out will begin.

The playfield rails, and back board have been re-installed on the topside, so now I can install the through targets.

Re-painted the rails, and backboard gloss white, then clear coated.

All the playfield and cabinet hardware has been powder coated micro metallic gold, same as the last Pinbot that was restored.

From Aug.2020 to now, Tim has the building constructed, ON THE STRIP, Directly across from Excalibur, Mandalay Bay, and Luxor.

As with any project Tim takes on, this was sorted down to the pennies prior to starting, but the lockdown was not forseen, and has caused a monetary problem.
What he has almost completed here, and in such a short time frame, is amazing, and needs to be supported!
