Contrary to assumption, the was not invented in Ireland. It was invented in 1967 by Hal Rosen, an American McDonald’s owner, who created the mint shake in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. American’s have long had a deep love for St. Patrick’s Day, and ironically, many St. Patty’s Day traditions began in the U.S. In fact, while Ireland has celebrated St. Patrick since the 1600’s, the first parade was held in America in 1601, predating the founding of the United States, in a Spanish colony that is now St. Augustine, Florida. Boston then held its first parade in 1737, New York City followed in 1762, and the famous Savannah, Georgia parade was first held in 1812.

But the love for Ireland and its heritage, deep-rooted cultures and traditions extend to many countries and keep Irish celebrations lasting year after year. Ireland feels like a real-world fairytale with its lush, rolling green hills dotted with white fluffy sheep, historic castles, and stunning vistas. Couple that with a lively and fun atmosphere, cheery locals, music you can’t help but dance to, and an endless number of pubs with ever flowing beer, and it’s no wonder foreigners can’t get enough.

Take a sip of your tasty green shake and start dreaming about Ireland. When the time is right, I’ll help you visit in person!

Travel is so much more than just getting from A to B. For many people, travel has become more about adventure, unique experiences, and making memories. After all, it’s the experiences and the ‘things you do’ in the destination that you’ll remember.

Travel Tip - Travel Locally
Many of us are guilty of neglecting our local areas and missing fantastic destinations just around the corner or only a few hours down the road. Domestic travel can offer all the excitement of a trip abroad, but with far less hassle. Since we are limited to where we can travel to right now, use this as an opportunity to plan the ultimate staycation!

Top Travel Tips for 2021
Tip #2 – Plan ahead
It’s possible to book a fantastic trip for the end of 2021, but with some restrictions still in place and a lot of pent-up demand, it pays to be prepared. So, I recommend you start that planning stage early.

Do you need to present a negative COVID test or proof of recovery from the virus? Do you need to be vaccinated? Do you need to self-quarantine before or after travel? As circumstances can change unexpectedly, I recommend you opt for bookings with flexible rates, with free cancellations, and the option to reschedule your trip easily.

If you would like advice for your circumstances, please do get in touch. You could also use 2021 to plan for travel in 2022. Now is the time to lock in your future travel as the demand is only going to increase.

Top Travel Tips for 2021
Tip #1: Get inspired
Trip planning all starts with a little bit of inspiration, and sometimes creativity flows when you’re feeling relaxed. So why not make a night of it? Order takeout, get a refreshing beverage, and sit down with a pile of magazines (or the internet) for inspiration. Or, let me help by letting me know where you’ve been, what you enjoy and allow me send you some recommendations!
