Proud daughter moment: this weekend, my dad was inducted into the Ontario Agricultural Hall of Fame.

He worked 36 years for the Dairy Farmers of Ontario. During that time he fought to protect supply management, worked tirelessly to ensure the highest standards of quality, and always always stood passionately for farmers and the agricultural sector in Ontario.

This recognition of his career accomplishments is so well-deserved and as his daughter I couldn't be prouder!

Today we join Canada in observing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

"The day honours the lost children and survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process"

The path to healing is a long one, but it will start with our country's collective understanding, education, and support. To observe this day, you may consider:

• Wearing an orange shirt or placing an orange shirt in your window.
• Attending a ceremony in your local community, if one is being conducted, or pause for a moment of reflection.
• Taking time to learn and understand the history of residential schools, and share what you've learned with others.

In recognition of the significance of this day, Legion House will be closed
and staff will not be in the office.
