Salut Melfort Travel Club
Time to start planning and saving up for Melfort Travel Club 2025. We are thrilled to be traveling with VM Travel once again.
Our school calendar has not been finalized yet but here is our projection and tentative itinerary.
The following is a sneak peek of what is in store so clear your calendars for April (thinking the 18- 28, 2025). Easter is late so we will have a blast in the warm Mediterranean, Youpi!!
We will book a group ticket with Lobstick Travel out of Prince Albert, travel and cancellation insurance of about $250-$300 will be compulsory.
Proposed Itinerary outline:
April 18 - Flight from Saskatoon Barcelona via Frankfurt
April 19 - Barcelona Walking tour of Las Ramblas and the Beach
April 20 - Easter Sunday at Montserrat Mountain & Monastery
April 21 - Sagrada Familia Cathedral and Gaudi Art, then beach!
April 22 - Bus from BCN to Carcassonne's Medieval City for lunch and exploring, on to the Pont du Gard Roman Aqueduct then Avignon.
April 23 - Excursion to St. Remy Market then Les Baux Castle
April 24 - Arles to see the art of Van Gogh OR Saintes Maries de la mer, to the beach for Moules et Frites!!
April 25 - Bus to Cannes beach and site of the film festival for the afternoon, option to visit the Fragonard perfume factory before arriving in Nice. Walking tour of Vieux Nice.
April 26 - Morning at the Marche aux Fleurs to buy picnic provisions and then climb the Colline du Château and stand under the waterfall! Afternoon free at the beach!
April 27 - Excursion to Monaco, the changing of the guards and the palace in this Principality.
April 28 - Fly home from Nice Airport via Frankfurt with a same day arrival!!

- Flight and all ground transport on private bus included.
- 9 nights accommodation, all breakfasts included, 5 meals incl.
Sites and walking tours mentioned above.

**Flight prices have gone up after the pandemic as you know. This tour based on 20 paying participants would be approximately $4500 CDN, no taxes applicable.

Watch for an informational meeting to discuss the itinerary and get an idea of the number of participants. You do NOT need to be a French student to attend the meeting or join us in Europe, however, priority is given to those students if we have too many. We will discuss this at the meeting coming up in early March.

How many times did we say, “when in Rome?”
We toured the Forum and the Coliseum with Jerry, an Italian wealth of knowledge. It was fascinating and we didn’t let a little rain get us down 🤣
We enjoyed a delicious farewell meal and one last gelato. Time to pack our bags for an early departure. Ciao 🇮🇹

We put on some miles in Rome day 1. There wasn’t much we didn’t explore. The morning took us on a speed train to this historic and cultural city - and from there we hit the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Campo do Fiori and the Vatican. Nothing like 28,000 steps through Italy’s capital 👌🏼

We’ve been busy… put on a few miles here in Italy the last 2 days - Pisa, Lucca, Florence.

🇮🇹Cinque Terre, you have our hearts… these 5 coastal villages did not disappoint. We heard lots of, “I had the best day today”, and there’s so much to come.
We hiked the most beautiful - and challenging - trail to the first village, then learned the train. Lots of steps today - and a challenge of who got the most steps - still waiting for the rest of the teams to post. Sounds like Team Moms might have lost with 22,060

Joyeuses Paques 🐣🐰from Melfort Travel Club en France! What a day we had… Beaucoup de sun and sandy beaches.
We explored a very cool walled village, Antibes, and chilled in Cannes for the afternoon. We pack our bags tonight and it’s au revoir, 🇫🇷 et buongiorno, 🇮🇹

Day 2, Beauty of a day, got to see just how nice Nice is! Morning walk to the market for picnic provisions and a hike to the hill to see the dazzling sides of this coastal city.
One of my favourite places to visit in Europe. Some rented scooters, some shopping and exploring Vieux Nice and some beach time 🌞

Day 1 of France/Italy 2023 started differently than planned but we literally rolled with it. After a few long stories we were separated for the first time… on the bright side, our crews handled it like travel champs.
Some of us earned an AMSTERDAM stamp in our passports with a quick tour some “interesting” things as we call it.
The Nice group arrived a little early and braved a late afternoon swim.
We were all together that night and our team came through for us!
We are so proud!
