Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day 2022 | Moccasin Trails
Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day!
๐ง๐ผ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐น๐ฒ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ...
Our peopleโs achievements, our culture and how proud we are that we have First Nations blood running through our bodies, our people, and our future
๐ง๐ผ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฒ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ณ๐น๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ ๐ผ๐ป...
Our resilience, the real history of the oppression our families from generations before us suffered, and a time where our people were free!
๐ง๐ผ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ ๐ถ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐...
To teach our Non-Indigenous neighbours who we are as a people and celebrate alongside with them. We share our personal stories, our personal achievements, and our culture.

Today is May 5th - A day that brings awareness to the issue of our missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA people (MMIWG2S+).

Here are a few simple ways to show your supportโฆ
- Wear red
- Read the Final Report: https://www.mmiwg-ffada.ca/final-report/
- Any events in your community? Go attend them!
- Educate yourself through Indigenous news ex. https://indiginews.com/
- Support Indigenous women in business
- Purchase & wear a Moose Hide Campaign pin: https://moosehidecampaign.ca/get-involved/order-pins-and-cards

โHello Everyone! Frank is my name. I come from Bonaparte, which is part of the Shuswap Nation.โ
As an Indigenous person, our DNA is our land, and our connection to our land is our language. Today, letโs celebrate ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ถ๐ด๐ฒ๐ป๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ by learning 1 new word for the next 365 days.

As language is so important, we are thinking about finding a new name for โMoccasin Trails Consulting.โ โConsulting,โ is a colonial word, so weโd like to move away from this, to find something that better connects with our language and culture. But, what may be a suitable word in my language, for example, helping others, โ๐๐ป๐๐ฐ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐โ [K-new-went-twa], is a different word in Gregโs Chipewyn language. Itโs not a simple change, however, we look forward to sharing more with you as we work towards finding the right word(s) that resonate with what we are doing. We welcome your thoughts.
