I am happy to announce the opening of my siblings' fashion store in St Vital Mall Winnipeg, Manitoba.

If you have been a long-time follower, you would know that my sister and her family arrived in Canada as permanent residents in December 2021. She decided to continue her fashion business in Canada and redefine the fashion landscape. From operating her e-commerce fashion store, she has taken a step further to establish a physical store in one of the largest malls in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

As we all know, fashion is in the DNA of almost all Africans, making us stand out when we walk into a space.

To all my friends in Winnipeg and its environs, I want to invite you to the Nessa Will Fashion Store opening on June 8, 2024. The venue is Store 116 St Vital Mall, Beside Hudson Bay, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

We are saying No to boring Canadian fashion, and we are here to redefine and dominate the fashion space.

Thank you once again as we look forward to welcoming you.

The ACS, which is conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, says the number of people moving from Canada to the U.S. hit 126,340 in 2022. That's an increase of nearly 70 per cent over the 75,752 people who made the move in 2012.

Of the 126,340 who emigrated from Canada to the U.S. that year, 53,311 were born in Canada, 42,595 were Americans who left here for their native land, and 30,434 were foreign-born immigrants to Canada who decided to move to the U.S. instead.

The Yukon government is temporarily pausing the Yukon Nominee Program.

The program is designed to help fill labour shortages by expediting the permanent residency process for foreign nationals.

On Thursday, the government announced the program is already full for 2024.

The government has received 590 applications since January. Only 107 of those have been processed. The remaining 483 can expect a three-month wait for approval.

The program will resume in 2025. Businesses in communities are exempt from the pause.

The territory's annual allocation is 430 nominees per year. That is set by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. Premier Ranj Pillai said he won't be requesting an increase.

"We're trying to be really respectful to the public service [and] let them work on the applications they have," Pillai said.

According to recent projections, Ontario will require additional healthcare professionals by 2032.

These figures highlight the importance of addressing workforce shortages in the healthcare sector. In ensuring an adequate supply of skilled professionals, priority will be given to candidates who secure admission to study healthcare programs.

Following overwhelming demand, Nova Scotia has temporarily suspended applications from workers in the food and accommodation sector seeking immigration through the Nova Scotia Nominee Program.

The program allows the province to nominate skilled workers to settle as permanent residents in Nova Scotia, but officials said a pause was needed.

We need to make sure that we keep some spaces for healthcare workers and our construction workers, who are also coming through those programs as well."

The province has not set a timeline for lifting the pause on food and accommodation sector applications.

The Ontario Government announced and began rolling out small business relief programs in fall 2020 to assist small businesses with operating costs and revenue loss due to mandatory COVID-19 pandemic closures,” the OPP said in a statement released Wednesday.

After reviewing the applications of two individuals from the Greater Toronto Area, the Ministry of Finance deemed them suspicious and referred them to the SFO for investigation,” the OPP said. β€œIt is alleged relief funding from the government was applied for through fictitious or ineligible businesses.”

Theophilus Ogunkunle, 51, and Omolola Ogunkunle, 36, both of Woodbridge, are each charged with fraud over $5,000, uttering a forged document and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in a Newmarket court on May 10.

The federal government is not ruling out further restrictions on international students as it works to stabilize Canada's housing shortage.

During an announcement in Halifax, Immigration Minister Marc Miller said the international student cap could expand if Canada doesn't get a handle on its housing shortage.

How long will these reduction plans last before they come back to start announcing that Canada needs workers?
