This time of year in the lagoon is special because the gray whale calves are now stronger, more playful, and full of curiosity! It's a rare and unforgettable sight to see the whales socializing and playing in their natural habitat, often swimming over for interactions with humans! ✨

Expect daily whale watching expeditions, breathtaking views, peaceful surroundings, and delicious fine dining!

The second part of the trip takes you on an expedition in the Sea of Cortez!

Set sail on our Mango Wind catamaran, spending your days out on the water, where you can choose how adventurous you want to be. Relax and soak in the stunning scenery, or dive into activities like snorkeling, scuba diving, paddleboarding, kayaking, and beach or desert hikes! And be ready for incredible marine wildlife sightings!

In April, the Sea of Cortez is teeming with life – dolphins, blue whales, fin whales, humpbacks, sea lions, and, if you’re lucky, even whale sharks or orcas!

One of our personal favorite highlights at this time of year is witnessing one of the Sea of Cortez’s greatest spectacles: Hundreds, even thousands, of mobula rays gathering in massive schools! 💙💙💙

San Ignacio Lagoon is one of those places you need to visit to recognize its beauty: a remote place in Baja, where the wind is strong in the first quarter of the year, months when gray whales come to reproduce and have their calves in these calm waters, where the clarity allows us to see the whales and their calves approach our boats friendly before they reach the surface, to give us either a spy hop or much more: the most extraordinary interaction in the world!
