Going to Socorro on the Nautilus Belle Amie was our first liveaboard experienceThe crew was amazing and the animal encounters were unreal. We saw the friendliest giant mantas, sharks, dolphins, eels, fish, and the largest lobsters we'd seen in our lives. The intensity of the trip self selects for fellow passengers who are incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about scuba and marine life and we learned so much throughout our trip. The dive guides were fantastic and always made sure that we were briefed appropriately. The boat also had strict safety protocols to ensure that we would be covered in the case of an emergency. Though it was our first liveaboard experience, there were many people who had done this trip before, as well as countless liveaboards around the world. Everyone conceded that this crew was one of the hardest working and kindest crews they had ever encountered. We had a fantastic time and hope to return one day.

Poseidon himself was looking over us this week and gifted us with encounters with dolphins, sea lions, mobula rays, blue whales, and the star of the show 2 different days of orca. Cocos is the dive destination that experienced divers speak of in whispers. It’s legendary.
It is super sharky. It is some of the best diving anywhere. Going ashore and exploring what feels like Jurassic Park is the icing on the cake.

Today Punta Tosca was good on the first dive for one of the groups because we saw one friendly black manta, who stayed with us for more than 40 minutes! Amazing!
On the second dive, we explored the inner part of the reef, and diving was nice and mellow. Lots of fish and some small creatures like an octopus, lobster and a nudibranch! We saw a couple of mantas, one stayed with us during the safety stop. The third dive was a little slow, we were waiting for mantas to show up, and we were not very lucky. We saw a couple just passing by, who didn't stay with us.
Tomorrow we are looking for more manta action at Cabo Pearce!
