Yesterday's County Food Tour was a great one. 🍷 🧀 🍕 🍦
-Breakfast treats made just for us by our favourite female owned and operated cafe .pec using all local ingredients.
-Wine and cheese
-Blueberry picking at (thank you for opening just for us!)
-Pizza and cider overlooking the vineyards
-Mustard sampling
-Farm-to-table charcuterie in the garden
-Gelato that we made ourselves (and oh what a gelato it was! More fresh blueberries, walnuts and cinnamon buns - get over to to try it before it's gone!).
While all of our tours are special to us, this one really drove home the fact that six seasons in, our tours and picnics are exactly where we want them to be. We've brought together our local knowledge, personal connections and trip-planning expertise to create a tour full of local experiences that are exclusive to The County Picnic. Our goal has always been to bring our guests beyond the tasting rooms and I can say with certainty that if you join us for a food tour in the middle of summer, you'll get a truly insider glimpse of the County.

In previous seasons, 99% of our VIPicnics were set for large groups (usually bachelorette parties), 10-14 people on average.
Not so this year!
2024 has been the summer of friends treating friends. Whether it's a bestie having a baby (like these two lovely women!), a friend celebrating a birthday or an intimate wedding/anniversary celebration, so many of you have chosen to show your love with an intimate VIPicnic curated just for you. And we're here for it!

We love to support local family-run businesses, and did we mention we're a local family-run business too?
That's right, when you book with The County Picnic you'll be dealing with me (Andrea) from the very start. As a former travel agent and current travel writer, there's nothing I love more than helping people plan a trip (especially to Prince Edward County!). I'll be here to offer local tips and advice, so if you need any help organizing your trip, you can reach out any time, I got you!
On the day of your tour or picnic, you'll be guided by either me or my husband, Edu. He has 15 years experience guiding and operating tours around the world and he adores making new friends and showing people a great time. You'll love him (and he'll probably convince you to take a trip to his native Spain too!).
Along the way, you'll probably meet one or both of our kids, Gael and Delilah. Gael has been tagging along and helping us out for five years, Delilah for one. We won't be offended if they're your favourite part of the day. ;)
This is our sixth year operating The County Picnic and we value each and every one of our guests. We care deeply about showing you the best time in the County, so don't hesitate to reach out to learn more. We can't wait to meet you!

We've been quiet the past few weeks enjoying family time and the holidays, and now we're ready to hit the ground running. Bring on 2024!

This year we're very thankful to live in Prince Edward County.
Thankful to count the passing of seasons in flowers and fruits (lilac season! strawberry season! blueberry season! apple season!)
Thankful that for such a small island we have a ridiculous amount of amazing local food and drink to enjoy.
Thankful we got to swim in the lake for six months of this year.
Thankful my kids are growing up running around wineries, farms, harvest fairs and beaches.
Most of all, I'm so thankful for the friends we have made here. Entrepreneurs, makers, Mama's - we're building quite the community and it's a pleasure to know you all!
