New Zealand Swell Shark (Cephaloscyllium isabellum) from Marlborough Sound. This was the shark species I was hoping to find on this trip. Great to get both NZ endemic sharks on my first trip here!

Ghost Shark! Aka Australian Elephantfish. One of only five species of chimaeras that venture into shallow enough water to be encountered by divers.
Although they are cartilaginous and have similar fin shapes and placements to true sharks, chimaeras split from the shark lineage back in the days of the proto-sharks.
Those critters on it's dorsal fin and back are parasitic isopods.
