We have tickets to Hillside Mall's Night of Lights on November 24th!

If you haven't been to this event before, you can't miss it! On November 24th, from 6:00pm - 9:30pm, Hillside Mall is open for an exclusive event. The Night of Lights is a wonderful opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping and have a fun evening out. The stores participate by having fantastic sales on their inventory, and there are appies, drinks & live entertainment. There are also some awesome door prizes, including five $1000 shopping sprees at the mall (and you don't even need to be present at the time of drawing to win!)

Tickets for this exclusive event are only $5 and 100% of the money raised from our ticket sales comes back to VPAS so that we can provide veterinary care for homeless pets in need.

Trick-or-Treating is first come, first served, and will run from 12:00 PM until 3:30 PM. SEPTEMBER 24, 2024, VICTORIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT: The BC Aviation Museum is pleased to finally announce the moment everyone has been waiting for - the public opening of the iconic Hawaii Mars water bomber from Saturday, September 28, 2024 and ongoing into the fall!

From this Saturday, the public is invited to see the Hawaii Mars up close to personally experience its amazing historical and cultural significance. This is the first time in its 80-year history that it is being made available to visitors daily with museum tour guides to present the aircraft.

There are potentially five phases of increasing the presentation, interaction and preservation of the Hawaii Mars over the next few years, and phase one begins with its opening this weekend.

Please read carefully the details of phase one below so that everyone understands what to expect when arriving at the museum anytime in the coming months.

The Hawaii Mars is a huge retired and intact still-flyable water bomber that has not yet been modified for having large groups of people inside. Starting next month, dedicated volunteers will carefully prepare the aircraft to more easily allow access while also increasing conservation measures. Visitors may enter and explore certain parts of the aircraft with a tour guide present, including the flight deck to see the pilot’s seats and the beautiful view of the airport from the cockpit.

LIMITED ACCESSIBILITY: Please be aware there is limited accessibility inside the aircraft. Just like touring the various decks of a retired warship that requires visitors to climb in and out of tight spaces and move up and down steep vertical ladders, during phase one visitors moving through the Hawaii Mars will be required to do the same, just like the flight crews nimbly moved through the world’s largest water bomber for five decades.

Corn Maze Update! We are Open this Pro-D day!
We’ve now had over 1000 entries and many compliments! Thank you to everyone that has checked it out so far! We are happy for feedback and to be able to provide an affordable simple farm experience - We will take everything into consideration when we plan out next year!

Reminders! While it’s technically Open Thursday - Sunday . We are allowing entrance on other days , especially if the weather is nice or it’s a holiday / Pro-D day! Boots should be brought if there has been recent rainfall! (Last night it rained a bit and we expect more Wednesday). There is a boot washing station on exit to leave any mud at the farm! How late the maze stays open in October will depend on the weather , but we do hope to keep it going close to Halloween! Lastly, if you are interested in a larger group attending, message us to plan it out!

We know that food insecurity is a significant issue facing youth and families across our region. Because of the concerns about youth having enough to eat, we are launching a youth-focused food pantry in October of 2024 where youth will be able to access groceries, participate in cooking classes to make meals, and learn basic food skills to support their development.

This food pantry will continue our commitment to ensuring that youth have access to food when needed.

When you support our Souper Bowls of Hope fundraiser, you are helping us combat the often hidden hunger youth experience. Join us on October 24th to learn more about how we are trying to improve access to food for youth across Victoria.

Named for the hearty soups and one-of-a-kind pottery bowls that each event guest receives as a thank-you gift, Souper Bowls of Hope 2024 will be held at the Union Club on Tuesday, October 24th. This year there will be two sittings of lunch, one at 11:00am and one at 1:15pm.
