Wow…first time up Whistler in the summer in some time and it was fun. Totally doing the tourist thing in Whistler. Hiking, lunch at the Umbrella Bar and a ride up Peak Chair.

Great start to the year with family visiting, lots of good times on the mountain, some new gear arriving….and a positive Covid test. Some R&R happening! Hopefully back at it soon.

Very pleased to have the Gondi Open!! This will be great for all us and our guests.

The wait is finally over! Whistler Blackcomb’s upgraded 10-person Creekside Gondola (Facing North: Sq̓útsa ti Tsaw̓ewéca “by the creek” - Lil̓wat7úl Ucwalmícwts; Facing South: Ch’it ta Swá7elt “beside the creek” - Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Sníchim) has passed final safety checks and is cleared to start spinning for the public tomorrow – just in time for the holidays! To celebrate, we’ll be hosting a grand opening alongside cultural ambassadors from , the Doppelmayr construction team, and community representatives, at 8:15am tomorrow morning at the Creekside base area.

We hope to see you there!

P.S. – We know many of you loved our complimentary Creekside bus shuttle service. Now that construction is complete and uploading can take place, the service will sadly come to an end. To all our drivers who came from across the province to help out over the last few weeks, we want to share our gratitude and wish you a safe journey home! Shout out to all the WB employees who also stepped up to the plate and assisted with the shuttle service on top of their regular duties – you’re all incredible!

These last weeks have been absolutely beautiful weather here in Whistler. These shots are from a hike this Saturday (Oct 8th) in the Blackcomb Alpine. Lots of people hiking and enjoying this incredible scenery.

Much like replacing the Creekside Gondola and Big Red, these two lifts will increase capacity and perhaps shorten some lift lines. Good news for sure though not adding new or more mid-mountain terrain for those pesky days when the Alpine is closed. I can't help but wonder if opening up the Kyber and doing the build-out on Whistler is on the roadmap?

The Fitzsimmons Express and Jersey Cream chairlifts will both be replaced next summer, Vail Resorts announced Wednesday.

It's always exciting when new lifts are built at your favourite ski hill. Even more so when they are your first ride of the day, oh and just steps from your door. The new Whistler Creekside Gondola and Big Red Express are just that. Say bye-bye to some of those morning lineups. Here are a few pics from the closing day in April to just yesterday when I snapped a couple new ones.

Jane and I spent the last few days getting organized for upcoming guests. But wow, it was like a mini vacation. Swimming, biking, dinner at Nita Lake Lodge and beautiful hot sunny weather. Oh yeah and we got the air conditioner set up. Summer is happening in Whistler!

Jane and I are excited to get our Whistler Creekside Condo... Willy's Whistler Retreat posted on airbnb. The renovation is done and we are really pleased. Thank you Randy and Barry at Ringmaster Construction. You have brought craftsmanship and quality to the vision Jane and I had for this project.
