What a stunning moment captured in Panna National Park! This magnificent Crested Serpent Eagle (Spilornis cheela) perches regally on a branch, its trademark spiky crest and intense yellow eyes focused sharply. Native to the forests of tropical Asia, this medium-sized raptor is easily identified by its broad, paddle-like wings, black-and-white barred tail, and the striking bare yellow skin on its face and feet .

In Panna’s lush woodlands and river valleys, the Crested Serpent Eagle is a sentinel of the skies, often heard before seen. Its loud, piercing two‑ to three‑note call echoes through the canopy as it soars in graceful circles, searching below for its favorite prey: snakes—a behaviour that gives the species its aptly descriptive name .

This snapshot also underscores the remarkable bird diversity in the region—Panna is home to a vibrant array of eagles and raptors such as Short‑toed Snake‑Eagle, Changeable Hawk‑Eagle, Booted Eagle—and of course, the Crested Serpent Eagle stands tall among them .

Whether gliding overhead or perched in silent poise, this eagle is a beautiful reminder of the wild heart of central India. A truly unforgettable sight!

Say NO to Exploitative Wildlife Tourism

Wildlife tourism should celebrate and protect animals, not exploit them. Sadly, many attractions use animals for entertainment—offering elephant rides, tiger selfies, or dolphin shows—often at the cost of their welfare. These practices involve abuse, stress, and unnatural living conditions.

If you love animals, choose ethical alternatives like observing wildlife in their natural habitats or supporting sanctuaries that prioritize animal well-being. Be a responsible traveler. Your choices matter.

Say NO to exploitation. Say YES to compassion.

🐯 Tiger Cubs Thrive in Bandhavgarh National Park: A Conservation Success Story

Bandhavgarh National Park in Madhya Pradesh, India, is experiencing a remarkable surge in its tiger population, highlighted by the birth of several tiger cubs across various zones. This development underscores the park’s pivotal role in tiger conservation efforts.

🌿 A Haven for Bengal Tigers

Renowned for its high density of Bengal tigers, Bandhavgarh encompasses diverse habitats, including dense forests, grasslands, and wetlands. The park’s varied landscapes provide ideal conditions for tigers to thrive and raise their young.

📸 Capturing the Moments

Photographers and tourists have documented these extraordinary moments:
• A captivating image of tiger cubs in the Sehra area, taken in March 2024, highlights the playful nature of these young felines.
• Videos of cubs in the buffer zones have surfaced, indicating that tigers are expanding their territories beyond the core areas of the park.

🌍 Conservation Impact

The increase in tiger cubs is a testament to the successful conservation efforts in Bandhavgarh. The park’s management strategies, anti-poaching measures, and habitat restoration projects have created a conducive environment for tigers to breed and flourish.

As of 2022, the park was home to approximately 135 tigers, and recent developments suggest this number is on the rise.
