Before season start we had signed up for the half-marathon in Nuits-Saint-Georges and managed to survive!

A prestigious > 21.1 km route crossing 60 renowned appellations, including Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Grands Echézeaux, La Tâche and a passage through the legendary Château du Clos de Vougeot.

We’re ready to start off the new season with Wine & Terroir now and look forward to enjoying some of those appellations with you in a glass of wine… or two. Cheers!

Annual visit from our friend from 🇯🇵. Beaune, Volnay, Meursault and Beaujolais. The latter is a tiny area in 🇫🇷 just south of Burgundy that makes wines with Gamay grapes. It’s one of the few wine regions that doesn’t take itself too seriously… just like the three of us.

Vendanges 2023 en Bourgogne : c’est parti !

Zwischen Hitzewellen und Gewittern variierte der Erntestart für die einzelnen Betriebe innerhalb einer Appellation stark.

Die Gemeinsamkeit: sehr schöne Trauben, und das in grossen Mengen. Trotz der enormen Hitze in diesem Sommer 2023, war die Trockenheit viel weniger ausgeprägt als 2022. Die Weinberge wurden regelmässig von sehr konsequenten Gewittern bewässert. Selbst die grosse Hitze brachte nicht allzu viele Röstungen oder vertrocknete Trauben mit sich.
Der Jahrgang 2023 sieht in diesem Stadium sehr vielversprechend aus, sowohl bei den weissen als auch bei den roten Trauben!

Was den Hagel betrifft, so ging er leider auf einigen Parzellen nieder (z.B. Meursault, Mercurey, Rully, Mâcon...), beschädigte glücklicherweise selten die gesamte Produktion.
