Another lovely short walk is the Sentier Emile Lovey, it’s a rockier path that starts behind the (beautiful) Hotel Splendide and runs above the village chalets. Despite the rocky landscape there are a variety of wild flowers and Great Lake views - thank you for the path M. Lovey!

One of my favourite short walks in Champex, from the lake follow the Chemin des Hauts Sapins signs to Val d’Arpette, where you can get a great meal or a cool drink, then follow the Bisse du Petit Ruisseau back to Champex Lac
