Fast fünfzig Jahre regierte der im Oman sehr beliebte Sultan Qaboos ibn Said al Said.

Nach seinem Tod am 10. Januar 2020, hat sein Cousin Haitham bin Tarik al Said seine Nachfolge angetreten, wie Qaboos es in seinem Testament gewünscht hatte.

Haitham, zuletzt Kulturminister des Landes, galt als Favorit für die Nachfolge des kinderlosen Sultans. Der Fortbestand der Herrscherfamilie Al Said bleibt gewahrt – genauso wie die Vermittlerrolle des Landes, um die sich Haitham ebenso bemüht wie sein Vorgänger.

In jedem Kulturkreis und jedem Land gelten andere Schönheitsideale.

Der Einfluss der westlichen Medien hat auch auf das arabische Schönheitsideal einen Einfluss genommen. Auch hier treten im Fernsehen vor allem schlanke Frauen mit glatten Haaren auf.

In Arabien gelten Frauen mit einer vornehmen, aber auch geheimnisvollen Ausstrahlung als besonders schön.

Als Schönheitsideal werden Frauen angesehen, die ein volles, dunkles Haar haben und eine samtige Haut. Da die Frauen oft die traditionellen Gewänder tragen, wird ein Fokus auf die Augen gelegt. Diese werden häufig mit etwas Schminke betont.

Volle und beinahe zusammengewachsene Augenbrauen werden im Orient als besonders attraktiv angesehen. Auch lange und volle Wimpern gelten als sehr schön.

Früher galten vor allem fülligere Damen als besonders schön. Der Grund dafür war simpel: War man etwas übergewichtig, war dies ein Zeichen für Reichtum und Wohlstand.

Schon aus langer Tradition tragen Frauen einen Umhang, der auch Abaya genannt wird. Dies ist in der Regel jedoch nicht verpflichtend. Frauen verschleiern sich meist aus freiem Willen aufgrund ihres Glaubens.

Auch aus alter Tradition stammt das Tragen einer Burka und einem Schleier. Die Farbe ist hier in der Regel nicht vorgeschrieben; seit alten Zeiten wird jedoch hauptsächlich schwarz getragen. Dies gilt als besonders elegant.

They can carry large loads for up to 25 miles a day.

Some cultures judge a person's wealth based on the number of camels they own.

Today, nearly all of the world's camels are domestic animals.

In March 2020 I moved from Oman back to Switzerland (because of the Covid situation).

1 year later I was in Oman for a visit, with my baby boy in my belly (March 2021) then I visit Oman with Raphael in August 2022 and today March 2023 I settled down (more or less) in Switzerland thinking of Oman every day.

Oman in my heart since 2016, then I did work in Oman (until 2020) but also visit Oman every year after 2020.

I hope we can make it 2023. Inschallah.
