MEISSOUN

MEISSOUN is a true dance addict! From Raqs Sharqi to Bollywood Dance, from Tango to Bharata Natyam... MEISSOUN is an Arabic name.

MEISSOUN is Switzerland's most internationally known dancer and teacher for Oriental dance and Bollywood dance. Her experience spans over 20 years of performances, workshops and other events all over Europe and the American continent. As a dancer MEISSOUN impresses with her gracefulness, expression and musicality - as a teacher with her clearly structured, well researched an good humoured classes.

MEISSOUN lives in Zurich but literally travels around half of the globe for dancing - and to a place near you! It means "she with the grace and the walk of a gazelle"...! She started her dance education in 1990 with Layali Römer, then continued with Karin Azaria Siegrist, Nelly Mazloum, Mo Gedawwi, Raqia Hassan, Lilo von Hugo, Tania Cook, Helena Cremona and many other well respected teachers. MEISSOUN has also been studying Bharata Natyam (classical Indian dance) with Barbara Dejung as well as Indian folk dances like Bhangra and Dandiya. She is a dancer and teacher for Bollywood dance since 2000. MEISSOUN started performing regularly in 1994 at various events - from small private parties to corporate events, from restaurants to theater stages.

Lange nicht alle orientalischen Tänzerinnen sind auf Facebook oder Instagram. Darum habe ich mal wieder meinen Event-Kalender überarbeitet und ganz viele Shows, Festivals und Workshops aus der ganzen Schweiz zusammengesucht.
Finde selber heraus, wie vielfältig das Angebot im Land ist und gib den Link weiter an deine Mittänzerinnen.
(Falls ein Anlass fehlt, teile es mir gerne mit)

Another restaurant dance, I tried to make the most out of the vertical video format.... This time with audience participation! :-) The bra/belt set I am wearing is my oldest costume - I bought it so long ago, it's practically an antique. But very good quality and still holding up nicely. It's from Gulseren Camci in Istanbul, I can really recommend her!

Ice Dancing - Dolder Kunsteisbahn, Zürich

I've been telling you about my ice dancing classes since last Winter. Last night we finally were in a position to record a video. Not quite ready for the Olympics but hey, it's a start! It's the dance called Preliminary Cha Cha - so feel free to hum a cha cha tune while watching it :-)
