We are currently in southern Spain and had a very interesting encounter with a Sperm
whale and Pilot whales. Pilot whales defend their territory against intruders like the Sperm whale. It was interesting to see them try to chase it away!
Right Whales like to come very close to the coast in their mating areas... one of the best places in the world to see the animals is Hermanus in South Africa 🤩

We've had some nice encounters with pilot whales lately. These animals are unbelievably elegant and you can see the strong relationships between them in the families 🤩
The blow of a Bryde's whale. This species is often overlooked, but is very special. Normally, baleen whales migrate between winter and summer regions. However, Bryde's whales remain in warm water all year round.

Whale blows are quite different depending on the species. While baleen whales like Blue or fin whales have tall blows, the sperm whale has often a more puffy blow that goes out in the air at an angle!
