A photo by Slim Aarons capturing the apres-ski scene in Zermatt, Switzerland, March 1968.

There is no photographer who captured the elegance of the sport—and lifestyle—of skiing than Slim Aarons, the society photographer who chronicled the rich and famous throughout the 1960s and 1970s.

In April of this year (2024), our friends Tanner and Parker were swept down Mount Shasta after triggering a wind slab avalanche. After a 12 hour ground rescue, they were finally off the mountain, but they both sustained physical and mental injuries from the traumatic event.
Ashley does a great job with her podcasts by putting together these stories in an effort to look back on possible errors and gain insight in an effort to prevent future mis-steps.

Alpine Exposure

We are a business founded on the principal of living an ordinary life in an extra-ordinary way. For the past ten years, we have been organizing high-quality skiing and trekking vacations in unique locations steeped in history and traditional mountain culture. After several wonderful seasons and hundreds of miles of terrain under our feet, we’ve found that these intimate settings provide unforgettable memories and ultimately enhance the personal relationships with our clients.

We are based in the US, but we also have a remote office in Europe. As a result, we can easily access any of our featured destinations allowing us the ability to confirm reservations with our local guides and evaluate current conditions. In the end, this provides you with the perfect opportunity of adventuring into these exclusive areas without the wasted time of having to find accommodation, coordinate permits, or endlessly search the map for direction. Bottom line: leave the work to us so you can spend more time enjoying the alpine environment.
