It was a busy day on the island as the first round of Koni raoni took place. An awesome Aitutaki tradition every year, sees family from all over return to compete through dance repping their village. It's a proud day for all and the final amount raised will set the bar for the next village to dance their way towards on the 1st of January.

Surprise!!!
What do you do when your awesome children surprise you with a cruise? You enjoy it! Our next duo headed out for an afternoon of smilshine, sunshine and blueshine as the day shone brightly. For dad it was chill and water time while mum chilled and enjoyed. It couldn't have been better for them and the appreciation for our gem was huge. Thank you Loren for choosing Kutekute as your parents hosts, it was an absolute pleasure.

Next to head out on our gem was this fabulous 5. Ready to explore as much as they could, and boy was that lagoon turning it all on, it was white sand, clear waters and our friends were happy to come out and play. This is what family time should look like when visiting our beautiful home. Meitaki Lee for choosing Kutekute as your hosts, it was a real pleasure to meet you all.

Our island explore tours are the best way to see our home and a great way to get to know where to visit once you're orientated and out exploring on your own. Like the Boatshed Bar & Grill. Such a cool little pub style bar that's been here for 18 years. Don't miss out on searching the walls for hidden treasures while sipping a cold one and waiting for your kai.

Our next awesome couple wanted to snorkel and explore so they joined the crew and that's what they did. We just love it when our guests return. Each year they become more and more like part of our visiting family. Rachel & Russell have made Aitutaki their must visit each year and celebrate their anniversary at the same time. Their smileshine and energy is just the best and they definitely enjoy their time while here. Many lead a full on life back at their homes so its lovely to see awesome peeps, like these two, chill and live in the moment. It was so awesome to see you both and can't wait to catch up again. You guys rock!!!

Something a little different this morning.
As a community we love to celebrate and birthdays are especially important. Aunty wanted a small gathering of her favourite coffee crew, to come together and so we did. Love our local spirit and the love we all show for each other. Happy birthday again Aunty and thank you for the invite.

It was awesome to see the paddlers come over after Vaka Eiva in Raro last month. This bunch brought their own shine on a dull day and enjoyed their time out on the lagoon. Such a lovely group of friends and we are looking forward to seeing you all again. Meitaki guys for being the absolute best, much aro'a from the Kutekute crew.

Our island explore tours are such a great way to get your bearings and discover things you may not on your own. Meet the lovely Steven who joined me for a cruise on land. After an awesome trip around my home we popped into Resort Tava'e for a couple of cold ones and more chat time before parting ways.

UPDATE!!!
I thought I'd do a little update to clear up this cruise ship convo. We get up to 16 scheduled cruise ships a year with a couple of surprises maybe, like the one we had this day.

The passengers are seriously on the island for around 6-8 hours and do nothing but enjoy our home with 0 negative impact on the island.

It injects much appreciated earning opportunities for the community and we get to meet some lovely people.

I understand what people are saying but these ships really do not or will not impact our home on any scale you're suggesting. Most of the ships that come here are very small and some days you wouldn't even know they had been.
We appreciate your concern but the is nothing to worry about and we are all fine with it.

I hope now some of you can put your mind at ease and no these cruise ships will not effect your holidays in the beautiful Cook Islands, and definitely not Aitutaki, one little bit.

One of the things that stop us in our tracks, while exploring our beautiful island, is the show these gorgeous birds put on. Mating for life these Piraki( white terns)spend their time together flying about their business. It really can be the simple things in life that make you go ah and these guys always make you smile.

It was a busy little day in the hood as over 1500 + people came ashore from a ship carrying nearly 3000 people in total. Tripling our population for the day and at 24 hours notice, I have to say to the people of Aitutaki, you did a great job. 1 more for the year and our cruise ship season is done and dusted.

With the weather slipping back into winter feels it was time to explore the beautiful land we call home. Sharing some of our favourite places with our visitors is the best thing to do and it's always lovely to hear the feedback. Linda visited our home for the first time over 30 years ago, and brought Richard back a year a go to see what she loved so much, that it brought her back. This time they have decided to share the love of our home with another. It was lovely to spend the day with you all and thank you so much for going with the flow and enjoying the ride.

We just love family time. Our next trio headed out for some special moments made and private time spent. Exploring the lagoon and it's beauty, snorkeling the crystal clear waters and what lies beneath and then chilling on the white sand of the motus, what else do you even need. Seeing the little ones take it all in, is such an awesome thing to watch and seeing them discover with their family, even better. Tasha, Dylan and Chase, it was such a pleasure to meet you all and to be able to share our time with you. Thank you for choosing Kutekute as your hosts.
