Nervous about catching the bus? 🚌 Don't be! We've got you covered. Heres everything you need to know about using our Cooks Buses...
1. To stop the bus simply, wave out to the driver to indicate that you are wanting to use the bus service.
2. Although we do have bus shelters located around the island of Rarotonga, the bus can stop anywhere that it can safely pull off the road. The buses cannot stop anywhere along the Airport Sea Wall or along the Double lane roads in the central town area. The buses only operate on the Main Ring Road of Rarotonga.
3. The Best source for a bus schedule is on the https://brnw.ch/21wBE8V website. There are still some old printed material in circulation on the island which does not correctly reflect the current operations.
4. Download the TransportMe Passenger App to see operating buses in real-time. This will reduce your waiting time out on roads.
5. The company also operates other services such as Private Charters and School Bus Services. To identify the current service of a bus please check the sign at the bottom left (passenger side) or Top of the Windscreen.
6. The bus service currently ONLY accepts Cash.
Check the Fares Page on the website to help prepare the right amount of cash needed. All fares are purchased on the bus from the driver.
