Resident AvateaCafe kitty cat Uncle MIke had an old fella bump on his lip, so we removed it before it got too big to work with, plus he had his spa day of lots of cuddles, treatment for flea and worms and an antibiotic as it was a big piece we took off his lip. It shouldn't affect his purring or his kitty cat smile. He's always around at AvateaCafe to give purrs and eat any tidbit you offer from the delicious menu. He highly recommends the fish tacos !!

This beautiful pic is from a few years ago when two local girls took pics with our jewellery. They did an awesome job! We have different jewellery all the time, made by Steph, in the studio in our home. We are happy to work with your pearls or you can select from our already made items. Hint: a great place to buy loose pearls is the Raro Saturday market. You will meet pearls farmers and be able to look through a small plastic container of loose pearls for your choices. I'm happy to make these into earrings, a pendant or a bracelet for you. Cook Island pearls come in many sizes, shapes and colours. They are SO much fun. Happy shopping.

Thank you Araura for a wonderful one day vet clinic on Friday with Dr Rose from Te Are Manu . LOTS of animals came in and we treated flea and worms, skin conditions, wounds, desexed cats young cats, health checks and advice. We do get cats that visit that have nose cancer. This often looks like a sore on the nose that doesn't heal. Cats with white fur and those with pink noses get it more than others. When it is advanced and the cat has trouble eating, drinking and keeping itself clean, we can assist with euthanasia in a pain free, caring way. Ear cancer can sometimes be cut off, and lip cancer too if we catch it early.

Dr Rose is here for FREE vet work tomorrow, FRIDAY. Please dont put kittens in the bush, they get sick. Bring them to us at the vet and we can try to get them a good home. Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow and your kitty cats. BIG thank you to those helping others get their cat to the vet.

"I'm off to the see the vet. I'm getting my tubes tied. Me have 18 babies a year? Not for me, no thanks!! I want to be healthy, I want to be happy, I can still hunt. Me and my family don't have the $ to feed loads and loads of kittens.

It really helps when we spread the news, or you help people get that kitty cat to see the vet. We help sick cats, itchy cats, mama cats, baby cats, bald cats, coughing cats. Need some animal help?? Dr Rose our vet is here this Friday 6th, Robbie and Keri's house . 9.30 approx start. FREE. YES we want your cat, YES we want your kittens. Please ,please DONT put those kittens in the bush, bring them to us, we can find them homes and please we would LOVE to desex the mama cat so you don't end up with even more kittens.
Need a carry cage, yes we got those. Need transport, yes we can help. Time to desex those kittens before they start having kittens.

Thank you Aitutaki friends and family for another busy vet one day clinic. And what a busy day!! We had several beloved pets that we put down due to nose cancer and liver failure. Dr Rose made sure it was as painless and gentle as possible. We had cats for rehoming, cats and kittens for flea and worm treatments, lots of desexing male cats this month, a cat from an accident that is now going to Raro for a leg amputation, removal of seeds from cats mouths, treatment of a cats infected eye, and desexing a loved mumma cat and cuddles with her three cutie teeny babies.
Phew!! Aitutaki you are so awesome!

Please bring those kitty cats to the vets on Friday. and YES we DO want the boys too. and NO we dont read them their rights. lol
A few don't really like the cage and will sing for their freedom, but they have the right to remain silent lol. Desexed cats are much more likely to be HEALTHIER cats, especially as the boys don't wander,look for girlfriends and get into fights and get wounded.

Have you seen Uncle Mike at Avatea cafe? He's so welcoming. The lovely folks at Avatea cafe adopted Uncle Mike and another light ginger boy as their cafe cats. Such a lovely caring thing to do. and Uncle Mike is super keen on the menu and wioll tell you all the great things to choose. ..especially the fab fish tacos!! He's on duty morning shift and evening shift. Visit AvateaCafe , give him a pat and maybe a tiny treat of fish.

Do cats really have feelings? YES they definately do. When a cat is dumped, they miss their house, their people, their environment. They get sad, they feel abandoned and scared. They get sick. They get lonely. They get anxious. Spay and nueter your cat so you don't have unwanted kittens that you don't know what to do with. The bush isn't a good place for them.

On another sucessful Vet Clinic day, I'd like to do a special shout out to a lady who works quietly in the background. Aunty Yvonne Tekotia always says to me "what can I do to help?" She often provides delicious scones and lunches, and she will pick up and drop off vets from the airport and act as reception lady. She doesn't like fuss but how can I not say a HUGE thank you to a lady who continuosly shares her hospitality and time! Doing her part for our community !! ..... and if you've had her delicious scones you know what im talking about!

Our lovely Dr Rose, the vet, is here Friday. Please bring your kittens and cats to be desexed. We are doing health checks, fl;ea and worming and any advice that you need. All is FREE. Oh it's the single kit, I usually recommend at least the double, but the six pack is my best recommendation for families... get one of every colour, you wont be sorry. No more pesky bugs, mice and fun to watch their antics.

Beach walk rubbish collection. Just an hours walk from the aerial to golf club on the beach and picked up this lot. We seem to have some folk with a terrible "affliction ". I'm worried about them. They can carry full Woodstock cans for a relaxing, fun time on the beach with friends, ...... but after drinking they loose strength in their arms. The poor people!! They are so, so weak they can't even lift the cans or carry the now empty Woodstock cans home.

Waiting for the vet but it's gonna be Ariki day on Friday, a public holiday, so it wont be this week. I will let you know when our lovely vet Dr Rose is coming and you can pass the (kitty cat whisker whisper) news onto your cats.

aww, Little mr one eye, Taimata, is now looking handsome. It has taken a little while, and two flights to the vets in Raro ( Te Are Manu Vet Clinic ) and two lots of stitches, but he got there in the end. He's a fiesty, happy, loving and playful boy ... and now he is handsome too.
