It has been a long time since our last post. It has taken some time to get used to our new Planet and foresee what’s in storage for BikeTours.
More biking? Maybe. To what purpose? What are our new routes? Where to?
Since its inception, BikeTours opened up new gates for us. People, landscapes, experiences,but mostly pride. In what we did and how we did it. We have nothing but profound pride and sense of achievement. We did nothing but the best, against all odds.
BikeTours exposed us to many opportunities. Some were lying down and waiting for the right time to full bloom. The pandemic is giving us a new goal.
Not so long ago we had great expectations to work with a high-end Canadian tour company (NOLX CANADA). Together with Sebastian Tirtirau, the owner, we traveled along Chile preparing the landing of his company with BikeTours as his partner.
Social unrest in Chile and the pandemic changed our plans. But maybe the original plans are turning into something completely different and far more complex, rich and rewarding.
Sebastian, for a long time, has used the profits of NOLX to invest in social programs in Africa. He has a strong organization working there to improve the life of orphan children, to provide water where there is none and to provide seeds for growing food to face these catastrophic times.
I personally know Sebastian, I know what he’s been through, I know his passion and dedication for his project. And I know the reality in Africa, where drinking water is a miracle, where feeding could be a rare event.
BikeTours, as a tour company, will be put on hold for sometime. Instead, we will invest our passion, time and energy to help our friend Sebastian in his endeavor.
Nuts? For sure. Dreamers? Of course. Naive? Always. The same ingredients we built BikeTours with. The same ingredients we will use to take this path.
Where will it take us? Who knows. But I’m sure we will find great experiences as we found when we biked.
