Our school’s Green Paper-Based Functional Materials Team recently published a groundbreaking research paper in Journal of Materials Chemistry A, a prestigious international journal in materials science. The paper, titled “A Carbon Nanofiber/Ti3C2TX/Carboxymethyl Cellulose Composite-Based Highly Sensitive, Reversible, Directionally Controllable Humidity Actuator and Generator via Continuous Track-Inspired Self-Assembly,” presents a novel approach to humidity-responsive actuators.
Drawing inspiration from snake biomechanics and crawler robot technology, the team developed a high-performance humidity actuator with a continuous track structure capable of achieving a maximum bending angle of 360° within 1.2 seconds. This actuator exhibits rapid response and recovery, significant bending capacity, and precise control over deformation, making it highly valuable for applications in fields such as environmental monitoring and non-contact human-computer interaction.
