Types of Scholarships in China
CSC Scholarship (Chinese Government Scholarship)
Benefits: Monthly stipend of 3,000 RMB (Master's), 3,500 RMB (PhD); tuition fee coverage, accommodation, and insurance.
Note: 273 universities in China offer CSC scholarships.
ANSO Young Scientists Scholarship
Benefits: Monthly stipend of 3,000 RMB (Master's), 6,000+ RMB (PhD); other benefits similar to CSC, such as tuition, accommodation, and insurance.
Note: Only two universities offer this scholarship: UCAS (University of Chinese Academy of Sciences) and USTC (University of Science and Technology of China).
Shanghai Government Scholarship
Benefits: Monthly stipend of 3,000 RMB (Master's), 3,500 RMB (PhD); other benefits similar to CSC.
Note: All universities in Shanghai offer this scholarship.
Presidential Scholarship
Benefits: Varies depending on the university and the category.
Note: Offered by many universities, including Zhengzhou University, Chongqing University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Chang'an University, and others.
Provincial Government Scholarship
Benefits: Varies depending on the province and university; often includes tuition coverage and stipend.
Note: Offered by universities such as Xi'an Jiaotong University, Kunming University of Science and Technology, Shihezi University, Northwest University, and many more.
University Scholarships
Benefits: Varies based on the university and the scholarship category. Can include tuition fee waivers, accommodation, insurance, and stipends.
Note: Some of the universities that offer their own scholarships include USTC, UCAS, Southeast University, Central South University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Henan University, Dalian Medical University, Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, Shandong University, Soochow University, and more.
Belt and Road Scholarship
Benefits: Monthly stipend of 3,000 RMB (Master's), 3,500 RMB (PhD); other benefits similar to CSC.
Note: Universities like Sichuan University and Xi'an Jiaotong University offer this scholarship.
Silk Road Scholarship (B-Type)
Description: This scholarship is often offered in the second batch of applications. If a candidate fails to get a CSC scholarship in the first round, they may have a chance to receive this scholarship.
Benefits: Monthly stipend of 3,000 RMB; tuition fee coverage, accommodation, and insurance.
Note: Many universities that offer CSC scholarships, such as Lanzhou University, Northwest University, Tianjin University, Southeast University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Dalian Medical University, and Beijing Forestry University, also offer the Silk Road Scholarship (B-Type).
