Introducing our most northern destination: Xi’an! Though the Terracotta Army, the Grand Mosque and snacking your way through the Muslim Quarter remain classics, we prefer to venture beyond the walls and warriors to experience Xi’an from a local’s perspective. Enter cave dwellings to learn more about troglodyte life, sample local Shaanxi specialties, get hands on with traditional papermaking or terracotta warrior replicas, meet local crafts(wo)men who’ll show and teach you their ancient trades, get up close with panda bears without the need to go all the way to Chengdu, pick fruit along the way (seasonal), and, for an extra dose of rural nostalgia, hit the dirt tracks by vintage army jeep.
Offer includes ½ to 4 days programs: pick one of our day tours to compliment your own trip or have us tailor a multi-day getaway, which includes the city’s highlights, local experiences, rural escapes, and overnight stays or even a sleeper train in/out (somehow, I feel no Xi'an trip is complete without a night on a train…)
