Today we celebrated Shoton or yogurt festival in Lhasa. Two largest monasteries - Drepung and Sera display a large Thangka and Tibetans gather to receive blessings from these Thangkas. Our visitors had to wake up very early to join festival activities.
On the video you can see how a group of monks carry the rolled Thangka preparing to display it.

Morning by the Everest in Tibet
October holidays were the first time when most foreigners living in China got a chance to visit Tibet. Of course, Everest was one of the main attractions. And Everest didn't disappoint. This is a morning view on the highest peak of the planet. Weather was perfect, clear and not too cold yet.
Yak herd traffic on the road towards Everest North side in Tibet. Its a great opportunity to enjoy the sight of these beautiful animals walking so close.
Winter scene in Eastern Tibet
Winter is in full swing in Tibet. While we rarely see snow in Lhasa, some areas of Eastern Tibet turn into a snowy wonderland. I love seeing forest coated with soft snow, looks so magic.
