Photo 1 is a gold coin unearthed on display in Xi'an Museum.Archeological study shows that the image in this gold coin was Theodosius II of the East Rome Empire. Photo 2 was taken in Xi'an Museum showing a merchant with his camel, the dresses and facial characters give assumption that this shall be the Sogdian merchant traveling along the Silk Road.

Great to see these Terra-cotta Warriors on display to visitors at the Terracotta Army Museum yesterday. What makes them different from those standing in the vaults is the color remain on their faces, armors; the Kneeling archer in particular looks pink in the face, red on the body as if seeing a warrior being transformed to us from 200 years BCE. A beautiful day with blue sky in Xi'an. Visit the Wild Goose Pagoda, and Terracotta Warriors.Photo 1 and 2 shows the Big Wild Goose Pagoda built during the Tang Dynasty, and bronze statue in the square was in memory of monk Tripitaka who traveled along the Silk Road to far west of China, and continued his pilgrimage to today's India pursuing true knowledge of Buddhism. It was at this here where he translated books he brought back from Sanskrit into Chinese and teaching Buddhism. Photo 3 and 4 shows how crowded it is during the summer holidays.

Tomorrow starts the May Holiday in China, suggesting all who plan to visit the historical sites on a trip in China to start as early as possible. Going to the Great Wall of China, Coming to visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Do make sure to start off EARLY! If you are catching a train or leaving for a flight, make sure to set enough time struggling through crowd of people at such places.

The Great Wall of China: This shows the beautiful view of JinShanLing section in HeBei Province, about two and half hours ride out of Beijing. To hike on the wall on an visit to China, this section would be one of the best to reach.

Great Wall of China in Beijing,Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an are certainly the must-see sites on a trip to China. Photos in the post were taken last week on JinShanLing part outside Beijing, exactly in HeBei province. Visitors are able to see the original Wall remain from Ming dynasty some six or five hundred years ago with no renovation at all. The third photo is Pit 1 of Terracotta Army in Xi'an. Make sure to visit this museum in the morning, since it gets crowded later in the day. There are several sections of Great Wall outside Beijing open to visitors, Make sure you are not taken to JuYongGuan section or BaDaLing section of it, since much of were renovated and very touristy. MuTianYu and JinShanLing are the best choices.

Looking after a group from the US in Beijing, had climbed the Great Wall today, will be moving on tomorrow to Summer Palace , taking night sleeper train tomorrow evening to Xi'an, looking forward to returning home.
