We continue our story about the famous architect Luis Barragan.🏛

As we have already written, one of Barragan's most significant projects is considered to be a house built by the architect for himself.

Let's talk about it in more detail.
The studio house was built in 1948 in the west of Mexico City, in the suburban area of Tacubaya.

It organically combines the Mexican style and the trends of world architecture.

The Mexican influence is expressed in the use of masonry for the construction of the building and the tradition of a real separation of public and private space.
The coloring of the building is based on the bright colors of traditional Mexico.🇲🇽

With the exception of the breakfast area, artificial lighting was not supposed to be used in the premises of the house during the day due to the presence of large windows and other openings arranged in such a way as to let in the maximum amount of light.

The rough concrete walls are very similar in color and structure to the walls of neighboring buildings, so at first glance the house does not attract attention.
And it gets really interesting when you get closer and closer to it.

In 2004, the house was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And today it is one of the most popular attractions that our tourists visit with interest as part of the tour.
