According to preliminary data from the Office of Economic Studies of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism, 🇨🇴 Colombia experienced a significant surge in non-resident visitors between January and March 2023, with a total of 1.4 million arrivals, representing a notable 49% increase compared to the same period in 2022. This figure encompasses 990,504 non-resident foreigners, 229,553 Colombians residing abroad, and 179,264 cruise passengers. The average monthly influx of travelers during this quarter surpassed 450,000 individuals. The United States emerged as the leading source of foreign visitors, constituting 25.1% of the overall influx, while countries like Costa Rica and Brazil witnessed remarkable growth rates of 114.5% and 99.3%, respectively, compared to the previous year.

🇪🇸: Según datos preliminares de la Oficina de Estudios Económicos del Ministerio de Comercio, Industria y Turismo, Colombia experimentó un notable aumento en el número de visitantes no residentes entre enero y marzo de 2023, con un total de 1,4 millones de llegadas, lo que representa un significativo incremento del 49% en comparación con el mismo período en 2022. Esta cifra incluye a 990.504 extranjeros no residentes, 229.553 colombianos que residen en el extranjero y 179.264 pasajeros de cruceros. ⛰️🗺️🌊Santa Marta continues to be the preferred destination for national and foreign tourism. During Holy Week, it received more than 120,000 visitors, and hotel occupancy remained at 85% on Good Thursday and Good Friday 🌴✨.

The roads of Magdalena witnessed the movement of 79,000 vehicles. Despite the impact that the closure of the Viva Air and Ultra Air airlines had on tourism throughout the country, more than 26,000 passengers arrived in the city on 215 flights through the Simón Bolívar airport ✈️.

🇪🇸: ⛰️🗺️🌊Santa Marta sigue siendo el destino preferido para el turismo nacional e internacional. Durante la Semana Santa, recibió más de 120,000 visitantes, y la ocupación hotelera se mantuvo en un 85% el Jueves Santo y el Viernes Santo 🌴✨.

🦜🌍 Colombia ratified on May 13th why it is the first country to host the largest number of bird species worldwide. On that day, hundreds of people, including experts and enthusiasts, took part in the Global Big Day, a scientific event where they recorded 1,532 bird species across the country's territories. This number allowed Colombia to once again secure the top spot in this international count. 🏆🐦

In addition to this, people in Colombia uploaded over 9,000 checklists to the eBird platform, where the records are gathered. All 32 departments, as well as Bogotá, participated in this effort, and 2,988 bird-watching sites of interest were identified in the country. 🌳🗺️🦅❤️
