šŸŽ§ Winning Godzone, Coast to Coasts & Kicking Butt as Team Grey from the TV3 Show Tracked.

In this She Adventures NZ podcast episode, host Senka Radonich is joined by Simone Maier & Emily Wilson.

In todays podcast, we have got twice the usual inspiration, with our very first episode with two women who both individually and together have one of the most impressive list of career highlights in the outdoors, including winning Godzone, multiple Coast to Coasts, stage races, and an Adventure Race World Champs between them.

If youā€™re not familiar with the Adventure Racing world and you havenā€™t heard of these two women, then you may recognise them as the Grey Team from TV3 show Tracked where teams of two evading elite trackers to reach a pick-up point throughout rugged NZ.

Itā€™s a must watchā€¦ without giving away the ending if you havenā€™t seen itā€¦ these gals are bad ass.

In this conversation

šŸ§ We talk about resilience, adaptability and motivation
šŸ§ We dive into their experiences in adventure racing, life, their time on the show Tracked, and they share a truck tonne of inspiration and insights on what theyā€™ve learnt along the way
šŸ§ We touch on what being in nature does for them and how this impacts their everyday lives
šŸ§ We talk about women in adventure racing, and how itā€™s changing
šŸ§ Plus Emily shares how she manages being a type 1 diabetic while adventure racing

And so much more...

Hit play on todayā€™s interviewā€¦ there are so many stories, tangents and nuggets of gold in this episode, youā€™re gonna fall in love with these very real and very honest women.

Listen, watch & subscribe on Spotify, Apple Podcast and YouTube.

Escaping the city for weekend adventure in Stan the Van.

Saturday was stella weather, and I got out for a little explore at Awa Awa Reserve.

Sunday the rain came in, so was perfect to curl up under the covers and read a book.

Whatā€™s so rad is Iā€™m only an hour out of Christchurch, so I stayed away Sunday night and am off first thing Mon morn for mahi.

3 nights away, 2 full days of time with myself and natureā€¦

Happy tank is full!

I was def more fearless on the bike back then, but the stoke of dropping in on rad trail never fades.

Get outdoors, fill your happy tank! Do the things that, because life is better when you do.

This is usually where I do my morning hīkoi. It might. It be the tops of the hills, but it is outdoors.

Just that dose of nature, and early morning light help to fill my happy tank, reset my circadian rhythm & feel good.

Fitting doses of the outdoors in doesnā€™t always mean you have to climb epic mountains ā€¦ some days itā€™s a stroll in the park.

This tree stand in the far corner at the urupā on the hill where mum is resting.

Iā€™ve cried under its wide reaching branches countless times wishing for one more hug from mum.

Itā€™s offered shelter when itā€™s rained when weā€™ve been up there.

You can see it from the marae, reminding you that our whanau is watching over us.

10 years today mum passed away. Some days it feels like yesterday and I miss her with all my heart.

Some days I feel like sheā€™s there with me and I feel a sense of peace.

Every year we come to visit her at the urupā, hang out and have a korero with her and all the other whanua up there.

Here is one of those places I feel grounded, at home and safe.

Was so nice to come and sit and be with all the feels that came up today.
