Whale season is here 🐋

The Golfo Dulce is a critical habitat for humpback whales. This tropical fjord hosts both northern and southern hemisphere populations of humpback whales that migrate to this area to give birth.

Since July we have been watching the southern hemisphere whales nurture their calves until they are ready to migrate once again in November.

The Golfo Dulce was awarded the first Whale Heritage Site in Latin America 🌟 This status highlights the conservation efforts that are being made to protect marine mammals and their ecosystems. We are proud to be a part of an area that is committed to promoting responsible and sustainable tourism.

After Raymond Klochko and Amy Khoo settled down in this property they spent several years building out the infrastructure and the vision of the lodge. In 1993, they welcomed their first child, Reymar, and fulfilled a dream of birthing him in the calm and warm waters of the Golfo Dulce. After the long awaited arrival of their second child, Jahza, who was also born on the property, the dream of creating a safe and harmonious environment to raise a family in coexistence with nature finally came to life. And the rest is history.

Both Reymar and Jahza grew up here and are now proudly carrying on the legacy that Raymond began back in 1988.

We love coconuts 🥥

This tasty, nutritious, and versatile fruit is enjoyed in many ways! Coconut meat ceviche, dried coconut, coconut flakes, coconut oil, and fresh coconut milk are commonly made homemade at our lodge. Coconuts are a good source fiber, good fats, and vitamins.

Even just coconut water from a classic “pipa fría” or chilled green coconut makes for the perfect refreshment on a hot day and is packed with electrolytes and nutrients to keep you hydrated 💧

Squirrel monkeys hanging around the property 🐒
