A Journey Back to my Roots: Panama Resonance Retreat

When I first set foot in Panama, it wasn’t just a destination—it was a homecoming. My husband walked me across the border of Costa Rica and Panama on our first date, and as soon as I touched the soil, I cried. I was the first in my matrilineal line to return to this land since my great-great-grandmother left it as a child.

At just 3 years old, she sailed from Panama on a pearl diving boat with her father, embarking on a long and treacherous journey around the horn of South America before the canal existed. When they arrived in the U.S., she was expected to leave her culture behind—her language, her roots, her home. She didn’t speak Spanish again until the day she died, but her spirit lived on in the names she passed down. My grandmother, who I lost this year, carried the name Bonita Joy—beautiful joy, a beautiful jewel.

This retreat in Panama is more than just a space to unwind. It’s sacred. It’s a reclamation. It’s a return to the roots—of my family and, I hope, of something deeply meaningful within you.

Celia is a Rope Faery, Energy Worker, and
Instinctual Chaos Witch. She has been a member of the kink/B**M community for over a decade and fell in love with the art of Sh***ri/rope bo***ge early on in her journey. She has attended kink & Sh***ri conferences across the US and internationally; participated in gorilla rope bo***ge anywhere and everywhere from the middle of a crowded city to an abandoned town in the depths of the desert; has helped run community B**M spaces; and taught kink education and rope bo***ge both in-person and online.

She brings a unique perspective, combining her love of rope and a passion for educating others with her background as a professionally trained dancer, RYT 200, and energy worker trained in Peruvian shamanism from the Q’ero lineage.

Originally from a small town north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Sarah is a professional singer, actor, dancer, musician, songwriter and teaching artist. After graduating from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, earning her BFA in Musical Theater, she moved to New York City where she has worked professionally in musicals, theater, and commercials for the last 8 years. She has performed internationally, but her favorite credits include Roundabout Theater Company’s Tony- Award Winning Production of Cabaret, The Sound of Music (Maria), The Producers (Ulla), The Other Josh Cohen and various workshops and for upcoming Broadway shows, including Griswold’s Broadway Vacation.

She has taught for a decade, and began her teaching journey when she became Pennsylvania’s Junior Miss in 2011. Her non-profit platform, “Be Your Best Self- Exposure to the Performing Arts” educated adults and children alike on the importance of art education in school. Her project gained national attention when she was awarded the “Public Service Award” at America’s Junior Miss. She has worked through Roundabout Theater Company’s Teaching Artist Program, where she was able to educate kids across the country on the process of putting up full theater productions. Sarah was nationally recognized in competitive choir and participated in every PMEA festival that was available to her. Sarah has also served as the Artistic Director of the StrandTastics, a youth show choir, at the Strand Theater in Pennsylvania. Since 2020, Sarah has served as Associate Voice Teacher in the world renowned vocal studio EKMstudios. Sarah now loves connecting with her private students all over the world!

She has been supporting individuals with mental illness, developmental, and physical disabilities for over twenty years and has been a student of Wild Essence for over ten years. She is a strong advocate for the unsupported and underserved, has a knack for blossoming one’s appreciation for the microcosm of the world, and loves sunrise bird walks with friends.

She has over a decade of experience as a both a student and teacher in the realms of yoga, nourishment, energy healing, plant work, ceremony, cyclical lifestyle, intuitive development and- the biggest initiation of her life- becoming a Mother. Her gifts include deep presence and witnessing, word wizardry, safety and nurturance, intuitive embodiment and initiating you into the wildness of your soul’s longing.

Sarah Bishop @singwithbish Vocalist + Vocal Alchemy Teacher Originally from a small town north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Sarah is a professional singer, actor, dancer, musician, songwriter and teaching artist. After graduating from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, earning her BFA in Musical Theater, she moved to New York City where she has worked professionally in musicals, theater, and commercials for the last 8 years. She has performed internationally, but her favorite credits include Roundabout Theater Company’s Tony- Award Winning Production of Cabaret, The Sound of Music (Maria), The Producers (Ulla), The Other Josh Cohen and various workshops and for upcoming Broadway shows, including Griswold’s Broadway Vacation. She has taught for a decade, and began her teaching journey when she became Pennsylvania’s Junior Miss in 2011. Her non-profit platform, “Be Your Best Self- Exposure to the Performing Arts” educated adults and children alike on the importance of art education in school. Her project gained national attention when she was awarded the “Public Service Award” at America’s Junior Miss. She has worked through Roundabout Theater Company’s Teaching Artist Program, where she was able to educate kids across the country on the process of putting up full theater productions. Sarah was nationally recognized in competitive choir and participated in every PMEA festival that was available to her. Sarah has also served as the Artistic Director of the StrandTastics, a youth show choir, at the Strand Theater in Pennsylvania. Since 2020, Sarah has served as Associate Voice Teacher in the world renowned vocal studio EKMstudios. Sarah now loves connecting with her private students all over the world!
