Nestled in the heart of Costa Rica, Territorio de Zaguates—or the Land of the Stray Dogs—is a truly extraordinary sanctuary that provides a safe haven for over 1000 stray dogs. This unique sanctuary is more than just a shelter; it’s a place where these dogs can live freely, exploring vast open spaces, socializing with other dogs, and receiving the care they need to thrive.
Territorio de Zaguates goes above and beyond to ensure that every dog in their care is healthy, happy, and loved. The organization offers medical care, nutritious food, and plenty of space for the dogs to run and play. They also work tirelessly to find forever homes for as many dogs as possible, but for those that remain, the sanctuary becomes their permanent, loving home.
However, maintaining such a vast sanctuary is no small task. Territorio de Zaguates relies on donations and support from the community to continue their mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and caring for these dogs.
