Wow.. we posted this last year. And is happening again today. We had planned to go to Cahuita and puerto viejo on the Limon province, but there is no access due to blockades all over the country. 😭😭

After spending the whole day in Manuel Antonio National park, we came out rather dissatisfied.
Yes, nice walk-ways leading to the waterfalls and beach areas and easy access for wheelchairs.

But.... in a few hours no one single monkey, or sloths, or raccoons, lack of shower facilities, too expensive to get it and you better pay for parking to avoid getting damage to your car.

Final thought. Not worth it. As a Costa Rican-Canadian, better spent your money somewhere else.

Tip: When you look at menus in Costa Rica, make sure that prices are in Colones not US Dollars and also look for the Abreviaton I.V.I (it means Impuesto de ventas incluido) tax included. That way you only pay what it shows in the menu. NO suprises... Pura Vida.

Tip: Costa Rica has many micro climates... if you are thinking about visiting higher elevation bring a sweater. I can be a bit cool... irazu was 4 degrees at night and don’t forget to bring sunscreen if you head out to the beach. Jacó was 28 degrease today... 🏖 🇨🇷

Tip: We have received a tip that Manuel Antonio is not what it used to be... 🤦🏻‍♂️ too many tourist, overly price and animals are rarely spotted... we have not been able to confirm this... but head out to Dominical instead or visit Carara National Park. Tourist fee is only $10 and it is a nice walk.

Tip: Poas volcano is very unpredictable. Head out to Irazú and/or Turrialba instead, stop at Sanatorio Duran and get spooked 😱 and check the old church ruins in downtown Cartago. All in one day 🇨🇷

Tip: change dollars at the bank, specially bank of Costa Rica. Any other exchange office will not give you a good rate. USD is your best bet. Candian or Australian dollars are rarely seen as well as the euro.
