ABOUT COAST TO COAST ADVENTURES

THE COAST TO COAST TEAM: We are a small, dedicated team resident in Costa Rica with our offices based in the capital, San Jose. Our offices combine administration and our warehouse facility that assists essential communication between both disciplines. Information on trips is passed from the office to the warehouse and to the individual responsible for transportati

on. The logistics of such an organization are of the utmost importance in ensuring the smooth running of a trip – the longest of which is 15 days. Our staff are experienced in dealing with the requirements of our trips and have in-depth knowledge of the itineraries. We also have resident staff at our campgrounds – El Nido del Tigre and Finca Pacuarito as well as at our rafting warehouse which is located between both camps. OUR ADVENTURES: We continue to discover mountain bike, whitewater raft, sea kayak and hiking routes that provide lifelong memories and leave our visitors with a confirmed desire to return. Our guests discover hidden treasures of this remarkable country by visiting places few have the privilege to enjoy. Our Adventure Trips are multi-day, multi-activity tours that challenge and satisfy. Each has a fixed price and set dates with options and extensions to suit individual requirements. Our experience of the individual personalities of our guests has resulted in the development of the Custom Adventures program that best suits those who do not wish to join a group for the entire duration of their stay in Costa Rica. If you have clients who want some help in designing their own exclusive trip, then let us help you in making their desires a reality. EXCLUSIVE AGENT TRIPS: Over the last couple of years a number of our Agents have requested a unique itinerary to be offered uniquely by that agent. Typically these trips have a maximum of 4 departure dates throughout the year and the majority of our agents are filling these trip dates. If this is something that would be of interest to you, then please give us some idea of the type of trip and profile of your clients and we can give you some ideas. COMPANY STANDARDS: Coast to Coast seeks to attain the highest standard of adventure travel for all its guests. Our Guides are responsible for ensuring the complete safety, well-being and enjoyment of our guests but retain a flexible and fun attitude. They are all experienced in every field of activity, are bilingual and qualified in First Aid and CPR and all our Head Guides are Wilderness First Responder or Wilderness Emergency Medicine qualified. They have a genuine desire to make sure that guests leave Costa Rica with a feeling of truly appreciating the country and their experiences but also having had a vacation to remember and often, one that they wish to repeat. Each Adventure Trip will have a maximum group size ranging from 6-12 depending on the time of year, type of activity and individual ability. We use self bailing six person rafts on the river and all participants are required to wear a US Coast Guard approved PFD and a helmet. Similarly with mountain biking, a helmet is required and routes are chosen depending on weather conditions and the experience and fitness level of the clients. Our sea kayak routes are also dependent upon sea and weather conditions. We use sealed deck ocean kayaks and all guests are required to wear a US Coast Guard approved PFD while on the water. Costa Rica received 3.1 million foreign visitors last year, 4.1% more than in 2018. Tourism remains one of the country’s economic pillar.

Costa Rica has not restricted travel due to COVID-19, but no cases of Coronavirus were registered in the country and the Health Ministry has updated its protocols to test sick travellers coming from specific countries, like China, South Korea, Iran and Italy.

Hello,

I completed the coast to coast trip from Quepos on 6th May this year.

I just wanted to write to say how fantastic this trip was. The scenery and wildlife took my breath away.
I also wanted to comment on your staff.
We were lucky enough to have Juan Carlos as our guide and Memo as our driver.
I cannot praise them enough. Memo was always happy and made us some great food. Juan Carlos was superb. His knowledge and passion for his country was infectious and just made the trip even better.

I will certainly recommend your company to friends.

Hi Randall:

I meant to send you a note to thank you for a wonderful vacation. Your drivers were always prompt and helpful and the route we took was fantastic. Our favorite spot was definitely Osa de Aguilla. That is an amazing place. It's really hard to say which activity we enjoyed best because they were really all quite incredible. Overall we thought it was an amazing experience.

The only company I would reconsider using was MASS surfing. On the second surf lesson, they actually sent us to a less than ideal place in the middle of nowhere with no washrooms or refuge from the sun at all. We were also Corcovado underwhelmed by the Corcovado hike. To be honest we saw nothing but a few birds (likely because we only hiked the outskirts only). The New Years dinner was a bit suspect at Montana de Fuego and wished we would have ventured into La Fortuna to eat...but the lodge itself was really unique and clean.

Our favorite spot was definitely Osa de Aguilla. That is an amazing place. It's really hard to say which activity we enjoyed best because they were really all quite incredible. Overall we thought it was an amazing experience.

I would definitely recommend your company to others and look forward to visiting Costa Rica again someday soon!

Randall was great from start to finish! I would definitely recommend using his services with Coast to Coast Adventures. It's a great way to plan your whole trip or help supplement your planning along the way. Communication was great, changes were supper easy to make both during the planning phase an while on our trip. Thank you so much for saving me a lot of stress as the travel coordinator, ensuring we had great tour guides and comfortable private transfers. It made our experience feel so personal and not like a mass tour operation.

Happy New Year Randall!

We had a wonderful trip. Thank you so much for planning such a fun itinerary. Most went very smoothly.

We enjoyed Costa Verde very much and had a wonderful monkey encounter while there. The zip line tour was terrific. The National Park tour was great, although very crowded. We had many delicious meals, but especially like Kapi Kapi and Agua Azul.

In La Fortuna, the hanging bridge tour was also crowded, and therefore we had to cut the waterfall portion of the tour short in order to make it back to the hotel for our Rappel pick-up. We loved the waterfall rappelling and my husband and I were very excited to accomplish that task. We didn’t really know what we were getting ourselves in to.

The white water rafting trip was also amazing. Beautiful canyons and waterfalls.

Thanks again,
Sheryl Last
