Gray-necked Wood-Rail (Aramides cajaneus)
This medium-size bird is relatively common in Costa Rica, it is far more often heard than seen but I visited an area in the country where he is more tame and allowed me to shot a few pictures without running to hide.
Have a great Sunday everyone! :)

These days I´ve been steering away from birds (just a little) :) and also want to share ´´other´´ types of wildlife that you can find in Costa Rica. This one is a three-toad sloth, one of the two species that can be found here. I hope you like this one!

Sharing is appreciated and encouraged

Resplendent Quetzal

During the last nesting season of the Resplendent Quetzal i was lucky to find this pair nesting in the open field where there was enough light to try and shoot them in flight.
I spent a week with this pair as they were bringing food to the chicks until they were ready to take off.
This photo was chosen as Editor's pick in the prestigious NatureScapes online photography magazine.
After much consideration I found that its best to crop is as 4:5 ratio
