***NEW FISH SPECIES DISCOVERED IN COSTA RICA!*** We have been working on a secret river for the past few months, and we just can’t wait any longer to share it with the world. High in the Talamanca cloud forest in Southern Costa Rica, the guide team in collaboration with discovered a NEW SPECES of peacock bass, known to science as Cichlea costaricensis. This species feeds primarily on red-eyed tree frogs, which just so happen to spawn in massive amphibian or**es in these high elevation tributaries. The best part is, this fish (PB for guide ) was caught on a tenkara! And below the water line… you guessed it! Both guys in speedos 😂😂😂

True story is this Cichla temensis was a just a hair shy of breaking the IGFA fly length record. And it was caught on the Rio Mataven in Colombia a few weeks ago.

Do you know this animal? The Baird's tapir, known locally as the danta, is Central America's largest land mammal. These secretive animals are largely nocturnal, and more often than not the only thing one finds is their footprints on a muddy riverbank or trail. Even though their "trunk" resembles that of an elephant, the tapir is more closely related to horse and rhinos. . Love to learn about rainforest wildlife?
