***NEW FISH SPECIES DISCOVERED IN COSTA RICA!*** We have been working on a secret river for the past few months, and we just can’t wait any longer to share it with the world. High in the Talamanca cloud forest in Southern Costa Rica, the guide team in collaboration with discovered a NEW SPECES of peacock bass, known to science as Cichlea costaricensis. This species feeds primarily on red-eyed tree frogs, which just so happen to spawn in massive amphibian or**es in these high elevation tributaries. The best part is, this fish (PB for guide ) was caught on a tenkara! And below the water line… you guessed it! Both guys in speedos 😂😂😂

Rivers have always reminded us of the passing of time. As we flow into another great year, we reflect on how the water flowing through the jungle relates to all of our lives at some point. We meander slowly. We plunge head on. We stop completely and get stagnant. We dry up. We sneak through the narrow and spread across wide. And sometimes we get lost and have to find our way back to almost the beginning. But along this journey we cannot stop the inevitable passing of time, just like a mighty river cannot stop its path to the sea.

Do you know this animal? The Baird's tapir, known locally as the danta, is Central America's largest land mammal. These secretive animals are largely nocturnal, and more often than not the only thing one finds is their footprints on a muddy riverbank or trail.
