Last shipments of 2023 are finally heading out of Costa Rica and most of our coffees have already hit their destinations! As this season comes to a close our focus will shift to supporting and communications with our partners as well as planning for what’s next. Thank you all for believing in us and making 2023 a hard fought success.

People often congratulate us on our growth and success over the years when we bump into them. But honestly, we’re not sure what gives folks the impression that we’re doing so well…

Although it may be true that we have had successes (a long with some failures) and have been blessed with growth - that’s never quite been our real goal.

Our purpose has always been rooted in quality as it relates to product, service, traceability, and long-term relationships. For us it’s about people. Period. Looking out for their best interest and enriching their work lives.

If you’ve read this far - know that this time of the year is about as intense as it gets for us. And we’re not going to lie to y’all. This season has been extremely rough. With sales all but wrapped up - we have immense pressure and stress to ensure quality and timely export.

We are making a lot of extremely heavy decision and juggling the emotions and expectations of our supplying and purchasing partners. We do everything we can to keep everyone happy. Sometimes we do things to try and improve a situation, but things end up turning out worse than they were before. It’s exhausting. Mistakes happen along the way. However, we always hold ourselves accountable, and again, do everything in our power and experience to do the right and best thing for our peers.

If you feel like we’ve disappeared from the interwebs… That’s why. Rest assured that we’re cooped up in the lab or in a dry mill / warehouse working our little butts off trying to get these coffees out in the best possible state there is for you.

Looks like our busy season for visits has pretty much come to an end!

Harvest is all but over, the coffee plants are flowering, lots are selling out, and what’s left is dry milling and exporting 🫡

Thank you so very much to everyone that came out to visit us and the producers this harvest. It means the world to us all and we are aware of the sacrifice that it requires from you!

Also, a huge thanks to everyone quickly cupping and making decisions on the samples we’ve been sending out to many of those who couldn’t make it out to visit us this year 🤗

New blog in bio ➡️ Nazareth is very busy these days! Visiting wet mills drying their coffees, cupping the fresh crop, and packing/shipping samples to our valued partners.

On top of all that she has taken the time to reflect on her past visit to the consuming side of the industry. We sent her out to see what happens in coffee after export in both Minneapolis and Denver.

It’s super important for us that the entire team understand deeply, the complete journey coffees make. That experience is forming the way we work the harvest right now. Every season just a bit better!
