Baracoa
The city was founded on August 15, 1511 named "Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de Baracoa" by the Spanish conqueror Diego Velázquez. It's the oldest settlement on the Island after the arrival of the Spanish colonizers, often called "Ciudad Primada".
In 1518 Baracoa received the city appointment. It was the first capital and the first bishopric of the Island.
