Cuba is closing its borders to tourism for the next 30 days starting today, Tuesday 24th.

It will be a difficult time for Cuba, but a very necessary decision to keep the Cuban people safe.

Hope to see you in Cuba when all this is over!

We found this beautiful little farm who focus on permaculture in the valleys of Viñales. The fresh roasted coffee was absolutely delicious☕

It's a must to visit a to***co farm in Viñales🌱 There's plenty to choose from, but if you want an authentic experience and learn about the to***co process we'll take you to the smaller farms without hoards of tourists. There is so much to do in the area, whether it be on foot, horseback or bicycle. If you have the chance, it's definitely worth staying a day or two. A day trip isn't enough to soak in all the beauty of this lush valley💚

Which cuban drink is your favorite? Canchanchara is our fave! 💚🍸
This old cuban "remedy" was used to ward of cold, hunger and fatigue during the Ten year's War and the War of Independence.

It's a simple recipe of aguardiente, honey and lime, but the balance has to be perfect! Best served in a traditional ceramic cup and enjoyed during the gorgeous cuban sunsets👌

We love exploring new places to eat❤️🍅🥗🌮😋
Currently in Viñales, trying to find the good stuff beyond the typical daytrips. Usually people eat at the farms or nearby attractions, but there are many great options in the centre of Viñales too.

The tapas plate 's was a highlight and the taco especially! 😍

The tranquility gives you a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Havana.

There is something magical about the rooftops in Havana! Even many of the gritty ones in Centro are beautiful! The light, the noise, looking down on the interesting life in the streets..

Say Hi to Pepe, the neighborhood dog!🐶
There are plenty like him in Havana. They are in good shape and well fed. They have homes but like to roam the streets with friends🐕🐕

But that is not necessarily the case for all animals here. Medicine is hard to find and many are abandoned too.
That's why we are lucky to have so many volunteers helping them out❤️ We have taken in cats and provided shelter for sick dogs. But these organizations need help and especially from travelers who can bring equipment and medicine from abroad! If you'd like to help, we have several good organizations you can contact before your trip📩

Oh, the ci**rs! ❤️
It's a must-try and also excellent souvenirs to bring home from Cuba.

But please don't fall for the "good" prices from your new friend who you just met on the street..
And no, the cigar festival is not that week you're visiting (they say that every day).
Buy them from official shops. Some are better than others. Our favorites even have a small bar, so you can combine your "puro" with a vintage rum🥃👌
Or why not join a local experience, learning how to roll your own cigar? 😎

Havana is not really known for being a cheap city🕍💸
Most of the expenses goes to food (± delicious cocktails) and taxis with a average budget of $100 per day!
But you can do it the local way and enjoy a good meal for $3CUC or less.
Sometimes the food is actually better than many overpriced restaurants you'll find in Old Havana..

We try new places every week and only recommend the best! 🍲👌

If you're short on time
In Havana, we recommend squeezing in a walking tour or two!🚶
We joined Mike from and learned so much walking around in the historical center and later learning about the revolution in a second tour.
We highly recommend joining the Revolution tour if you want to learn about history of the revolution, but also how it shaped society and today's everyday life of Cubans. It's very interesting to get the different perspectives!

The tours are free and you tip for the (awesome) service 👌

Walking up to the Christ of Havana to catch the sunset 😍
This is one of the most beautiful views of the city, across the bay.

You can do this trip in a classic American car or do it the local way;
Take the ferry, bring a bottle of rum and watch the sunset from the bench surrounding the statue 🌇🥃🧡

Pan con lechón (pork sandwich) is a typical cuban street food that is great to order if you are short on time.
Our tip: check the quality of the meat and if they offer condiments beside extra salt. Some can be a little on the dry side..
We have a favorite spot close to the university🥪😉
