Local fishermen are happy to show the life aquatic here on Santa Maria pier! 5 generations of knowledge, spanning all of Sal Island! we also do catch an cook, BBQ and teach local cuisine. Fun for the whole family, learn about water safely and snorkling also an option with sunken ships, turtles and dolphin sightings daily!

PESCADOR DESAPARECIDO NO MAR DESDE QUARTA-FEIRA O3 DE ABRIL
Alesson Soares, 37 anos, mais conhecido por Alex, terá desaparecido no mar por volta das quatro horas da madrugada de quarta-feira depois de ter estado a pescar nas imediações do ilhéu Raso, a oeste de São Nicolau.

O alerta do seu desaparecimento foi dado por familiares na tarde de quarta-feira, sendo imediatamente acionado uma operação de busca e salvamento que continua ativa com o auxilio de duas embarcações de pesca. Ate esta sexta-feira nada foi avistado.

Alex é pescador há quase 20 anos e na madrugada de quarta-feira saiu ao mar sozinho para ir pescar sozinho, como quase sempre fazia, no seu pequeno bote de 6 metros. . Em Tarrafal de São Nicolau, de onde é natural, é tido como pescador experiente e um bom pai de família.

Atlantic dolphins can be exciting, but they also steal your fish if you are not fast enough, so we like to race them out of the good spots! They love to play in the waves, especially around big ships and ferries.

Beautiful spot overlooking the underwater statues and historic pier location. Caught a lion fish 🎣 which we did throw back safely. Be careful if you come across these fish: These have poison spikes!
