🌍World Environment Day, the theme for 2024: Our Land. Our Future. We are !🌱

Today, we unite to celebrate our planet and advocate for the urgent need for land restoration. Deforestation, desertification, and drought threaten not only our ecosystems but also our communities and livelihoods. It's time to take action!

Here is a set of photos of our guide, Jordi, former Cabo Verde Youth Ambassador for the Atlantic Ocean, advocating in different ways the need for sustainable and responsible use of Sal's resources.
We, as an Eco-tourism company, are aware of the importance and possible impacts that tourism may have on such a fragile ecosystem as Sal. Therefore, we plan our activities focused on having as little impact as possible on every activity we do.

How can you make a difference? Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
Here are 10 examples:
1.⁠ ⁠Use reusable shopping bags
2. Minimize plastic/ single-use products, use instead:
-reusable coffee mugs
-beeswax food wraps
-canvas shopping bags
-sustainable eating utensils
-reusable water bottle
💡Did you know that by purchasing one reusable water bottle, you could save an average of 1,500 plastic water bottles per year.
3.⁠ ⁠Turn off your lights in vacant rooms
4.⁠ ⁠Unplug the devices you aren’t using
5.⁠ ⁠Take shorter showers
6.⁠ ⁠Turn off the water when you’re brushing your teeth
7.⁠ ⁠Clean up any litter you see
8.⁠ ⁠Eat less meat
9.⁠ ⁠RECYCLE!
10.⁠ ⁠Make responsible choices when you are on vacation.

Visit the island’s lemon shark nursery and experience what it is like to have baby sharks swimming up close, around, and between your legs. Learn from an experienced marine biologist about their behaviors, ecology and conservation.

Yesterday we had an exciting "mini" Stargazing. We had the pleasure of introducing our night sky to 19 youngsters/toddlers of ATL DA TIA HEIDY. We were very lucky to show them 3 planets (Venus, Jupiter and Mars) and a full Moon. The kids absolutely loved it and learned a lot. As Sal Eco Tours, we want to work closely with the community to foster education and increase curiosity about science and conservation.
