Due to heavy rain fall earlier today and possibly tomorrow May 5th and Monday May 6th, you are advised not to visit the Bandabou area (Western side of the island) including the following beach areas:

Santa Cruz
Lagun
Playa Grandi (Playa Piskado)

Wegens de hevige regenval op delen van het eiland vanochtend en mogelijkerwijs ook morgen 5 mei en maandag 6 mei, wordt u verzocht Bandabou (het westelijke gedeelte van het eiland) te vermijden. Dit geldt ook voor:

Lieve mensen,
We zijn inmiddels op de helft! Wie helpt ons het bedrag nog compleet te maken zodat we deze tafel kunnen realiseren?

Boca hundu.
Een prachtig plekje aan de zuidkust.
Heerlijk onder de bomen, prachtig uitzicht en heerlijk op de wind.
Waar we ook graag met onze gasten tijdens onze tours de picknick nuttigden.
De oude tafel en bank zijn door natuurgeweld helaas in elkaar gestort en inmiddels afgevoerd.
Nu heeft stichting uniek het klus team klaar staan om hier een prachtige picknick tafel en 2 vuilnisbakken te plaatsten tijdens het curadoet project 15 maart a.s. en de voorbereidingen hiervoor al getroffen.
Echter komen we financieel nog zo'n 600,- nafl (rond de 300,-€) te kort voor al het materiaal.

Kun jij wat missen en wil je mee sponsoren? Elke financiële bijdrage is namelijk meer dan welkom!

Curaçao rain season has started!
Hippo's found the Mudd lakes at San pedro area.
And dolphins playing at the saliña rivers.
A little mud doesn't hurt, but to much rainwater and no snorkel is unsafe driving for our jeeps and guests!
So unfortunately we've decided to cancel our tours up till Saturday 4th November.

Yes we did it again! 💪💪💪
Many hands (100+!) Makes less work!
We've cleaned the ascension bay plastic free!

[ROTARIANS UNITED Clean up Curaçao - Rotarians united ]

Ongelooflijk wat een prestatie. En wat een samenwerking!
We zijn met recht ontzettend trots op alle Rotarians en samenwerkende teams van vrijwilligers van Curaçao Clean Up, Limpi, Stichting Uniek Curacao en Sea Turtle Conservation Curacao. Gisteren hebben we met meer dan 100 volwassenen en kinderen een enorme inzet getoond om op World Clean Up Day al het vuil bij Boca Ascencion op te ruimen.

En er lag nogal wat aan deze before en after foto's te zien, dus we zijn ontzettend blij dat we zo'n enorm verschil hebben kunnen maken met elkaar en de boca weer schoon is.

Uiteraard werd het harde werken beloond met een hapje en een drankje, waardoor deze inspanning op een gezellige en saamhorige manier werd afgesloten en een ieder met een warm en tevreden gevoel huiswaarts ging.

Nogmaals dank Curaçao Clean Up voor het nemen van dit initiatief. En een heel warm applaus voor 'All Rotarians' (Rotary Club Willemstad, Rotary Club of Curacao, Rotaract Club of Curaçao en Interact club of Curaçao omdat jullie hebben laten zien wat samenwerking inhoudt en wat je met elkaar wel niet kunt bewerkstelligen!

That loudy noise in our nature...
After spending sometimes more than a decade underground, cicadas live a brief time above ground that measures in weeks.
Cicada juveniles, or nymphs, emerge from the ground to make tons of noise, mate, eat, lay eggs, and molt. These days you'll hear them everywhere and if you look good, you’ll probably also see some of their dead skin which they leave after molting (a.k.a. exoskeletons, photo left).
The hotter the day, the louder the male cicadas make their sounds, drowning out all bird calls.....
