👋 Meet Ioan (Yo-an), our Head of Support! Ioan makes sure Daytrip's 24/7 support systems work great for customers and drivers, and chances are you have spoken to him personally over the years!

Ioan initially joined Daytrip as a Customer Support Specialist and even drove for Daytrip for a short period. After 3 years with Daytrip, he became Head of Support and now leads a team of 40+ people across two continents.

At Daytrip, one of our guiding principles is fostering and developing talent within our community. For example, our Jan Jirásek has climbed the career ladder from being a Daytrip driver to managing our driver support team. Curious to know how he accomplished this?

Before joining Daytrip, Jan spent a few years working as a driver and was involved in managing a fleet of drivers catering to tourists and business customers for a company associated with ride-sharing applications like Uber. After traveling across Europe and dedicating a few years to driving for Daytrip, he received an offer that was simply too good to refuse. “Daytrip reached out and offered me work as a driver support specialist. I didn’t hesitate to join,” he shares with a laugh.

In just a few months, Jan was promoted to senior specialist. And this April, he accepted the managerial role and now leads our driver support team.

Wondering what Jan is up to in his current role? He oversees the assignment of qualified drivers for each trip to guarantee seamless operations, addresses emergency or difficult situations swiftly, and trains new hires. Fortunately, his previous experience lends him a unique perspective: “My biggest advantage, if you will, is that I worked as a driver before, and I can relate to most of the problems drivers have to deal with,” Jan reveals.
