THE BEST OF KIZOMBA -SEMBA - FUNANA - AFROBEATS - LATINO - URBAN
We decided to create Afro-Bailar Prague festival in 2010. The idea came up from Vitor Tavares Mendes, who came to Prague this year and saw an opportunity to bring luso-afro-latino artists to this beautiful city and create something new. He managed to make this idea to com
e true together with his wife Tereza Tavares Mendes and their good friend and DJ Rostislav Kryl. During the 4 years we have hosted more than 20 singers and music and dance groups, 17 DJs and more than 50 dance instructors with international background and we had over 1 000 visitors at our festivals in 4 years. It was a hard decision for us but we have decided to finish one part of our lives and start a new chapter. Organization of a festival takes a lot of time and a hard work and at this moment we want to focus more on our family life, our careers and get ready for new projects we want to work on. HISTORY
12th - 14th November 2010, Prague, Czech Republic
The first year was just crazy as we had only 4 months to make it but we managed. In such a short time we brought more than 130 music and dance lovers to enjoy family atmosphere. This year we focused mainly on music and live concerts.
2nd - 6th November 2011, Prague, Czech Republic
The second year was bigger, we were preparing it the whole year and the hard work was well paid off. This was one of our strongest years. We had a rich program full of dance workshops, live shows, fashion shows, exhibition and 3 crazy parties with free African original food and market. This year we have focused on music and dance diversity and we brought together styles such as Kizomba, Salsa, Zouk, Argentine Tango, Semba, Samba de Gafieira, Coupe-Decale, African dance, Mbalax, Breakdance and African drumming.
1st - 4th November 2012, Prague, Czech Republic
This year we focused more on dance and even more diversity and we brought together everything from Afro-latino, Arabic, Fitness, Indian and Urban. It was 4 days full of workshops and parties with a great diverse program.
17th - 19th November 2014, Bratislava, Slovakia
We would call it the most relaxing festival we had. We brought together new audience and it was proper dance weekend which everyone enjoyed at max. We want to BIG UP and say big thank you to all artists who we had an honour to host at Afro-Bailar 2010 - 2014, to all coworkers for their hard work, all promoters and all friends for their support. It was really great and a huge experience for us to have you with us. Artists:
