One of the highlights? Building these beautiful gingerbread houses – like this one for the open decks of our EUROPA 2. Every piece is handmade, and we hope our guests enjoy a little taste of this holiday tradition!

CHRISTMAS COCKTAIL: A festive aroma fills the air aboard our expedition ships. Inspired by the holiday spirit, Bar Chef Joe Van Zwol has created a special Xmas drink: Glühgin. Here’s how it’s made: 100ml (3.4 ounces) warm orange and 100ml (3.4 ounces) warm apple juice spiced with cloves, star anise, and a cinnamon stick, then topped with South Atlantic Kelper’s Gin. This unique gin from the Falkland Islands Distillers features freshly harvested sea kelp as a botanical, evoking the crisp purity of Antarctica. Decorate with an orange zest and enjoy.

90 KILOMETERS TO BONANZA: Nestled on Spain’s Mediterranean coast this port marks the entrance to the Guadalquivir River. It connects the Sea with Seville, the vibrant capital of Andalusia. On a warm summer-like day, our EUROPA embarked on a stunning cruise up this majestic river—wide and serene at first—until it passed through a narrow drawbridge right into the heart of the city of flamenco and tapas, the Alcázar Palace, and the breathtaking Metropol Parasol.
