The hunting season for brown bears begins in Croatia on March 15. This extraordinary experience takes place in one of the few European countries where hunting brown bears is possible.

But why is spring the best time for this hunt, and why is it so important in Croatia? Spring offers ideal conditions for brown bear hunting. After hibernation, bears are active and roam the forests in search of food, making them more visible and the hunt more sustainable. This time of year allows hunters to regulate the population in a way that preserves the ecological balance.

The importance of brown bear hunting in Croatia lies not only in tradition but also in its contribution to species conservation and the regulation of the bear population. Controlled hunting helps minimize conflicts between bears and humans by preventing the bear population from becoming too large for its natural habitat. Croatia, as a member of CITES, also ensures that all hunting activities follow strict international guidelines to secure the protection of these majestic animals.

With this successful hunt across the fields of Stribro, our estate hunting weekend came to an end.
A huge thank you to everyone who was part of our estate hunt. We are already looking forward to the next time when we come together again in the Czech Republic.

The roebuck hunting season in France has come to an end, but the chamois, mouflon, and red deer hunting is at its peak.

Sustainable hunting is important and creates jobs in the region while generating revenue for nature conservation. This is also the case with our Croatian partner at Forst Eibenstein. The hunters this week were able to reap the rewards of good stewardship and professional hunting management.

Three strong stags, two of them in medal range, and a proud boar were successfully harvested. The hunters receive the trophies, and the meat is fully utilized.

Hunting without a dog is in many cases impossible! I believe every hunter would agree with that. But our four-legged companions serve not only for hunting but also as members of the family and loyal companions in everyday life. Here in the pictures, you can see the Weimaraner, known as a versatile working dog.

FORST EIBENSTEIN operates in carefully selected private hunting grounds and meticulously examined game harvesting areas. German hunting principles, combined with the knowledge of modern wildlife biology approaches at FORST EIBENSTEIN, ensure sustainable wildlife habitats.

With the Wildlife Conservation Initiative of Forst Eibenstein, long-term investments are made in their development. Project examples include the protection of partridges and ground-nesting birds in the Upper Palatinate Forest, the development of mountain game in the Tyrolean Alps, protection of Sika and Mouflon in the Czech Republic, as well as the Project Barbary sheep also know as aoudad in Mosor - Croatia.

Both humans and wildlife must thrive in the hunting grounds, that's the approach.

The use of game meat is understood as a purpose of hunting. All hunted species in the FORST EIBENSTEIN territories are sustainably used and are primarily consumed by humans. The resulting pelts are used in fur processing. Not wasting anything and respecting creation is the paramount premise of our family business.
